Description of the Darby vacation cabin rental
The Alta Ranch's Cottonwood cabin offers spacious accommodations for two couples or can accommodate 8 using the queen sleeper sofa in the living room and two twin rollaway beds. It is our largest cabin and at 1400 square feet it is more like a vacation home than a cabin. It features two bedrooms, each with either a king bed or two twin beds, two bathrooms with tub showers, a spacious living/dining room with wood stove, a fully equipped kitchen, laundry room, and porch with panoramic view.

The Cottonwood is our most private cabin, situated by itself on the west side of the ranch. It has a small creek running next to the cabin and a private campfire site nearby. It offers a gorgeous view of the valley and surrounding mountains. About a mile of the West Fork of the Bitterroot river flows through the 150 acre ranch.

We also have four other deluxe log homes for rent all year round--Aspen, Ponderosa, Alta Vista, and Moose Crossing.

Owner Supplied Testimonials

“Excellent in all regards. The ranch and surrounding area are beautiful. Cottonwood is a great cabin. Just what we were looking for. Thanks!" John W., Maryville, Tennessee

“Do you recall, as children perhaps, the ‘let down’ you experienced just after the anticipation, excitement, and joy of Christmas Day? Well, now that I’ve returned from Montana and the stay with you at Alta Ranch, I’m stuck with that let down…” Donn S. and Diane R., Lee, New Hampshire

"Very clean, wonderful. You thought of everything. The site on the Internet showed a lot of the activities/facilities but not till we arrived did the full beauty become apparent ... We fully enjoyed the ranch. The wildlife, quiet, and tranquility was great ... walks, campfires, bar-B-Q's were all great. The kids really enjoyed feeding the fish and the elk in the meadow. We enjoyed the games and other wonderful things in the Homestead [clubhouse] ... You are very hospitable and went above and beyond to make our stay truly enjoyable and make us feel at home." Ken and Cheryl H., Kirkland, Washington
