Thank you for inquiring about Private Islands of Georgia's newest property, Coastal Maritime Lodge. My name is Andy Hill and I am the owner and director of guest services for Private Islands of Georgia and Coastal Maritime Lodge. I will work with you to provide a relaxing getaway weekend, a getaway for the family for a week, or a special anniversary or honeymoon escape. We will listen and work with you to provide any services, food, outdoor activities (offshore/inshore fishing, kayaking, crabbing or boating on the Georgia coast), or escape to the beaches of St. Simons, Jekyll or Sapelo Island. We will be your personal concierge while you are vacationing at Coastal Maritime Lodge. When you rent the lodge, it is your private lodge to enjoy all by yourself, so come one, come all.

Coastal Maritime Lodge was built in 1875 (see pictures below for detail). The original heart pine floors, stairs and roof rafters remain, while the newly constructed 4,000 square foot 4 ½ bedroom, 4 ½ bath and 5 fireplaces help create this one-of-a-kind historic coastal lodge. The lodge is finely decorated by Private Islands of Georgia's Andy and Shannon Hill using local maritime décor. A must-see salvaged maritime treasure is the old Spanish anchor from the 1800's that is now the chandelier in the entryway. Throughout the lodge you will notice maritime treasures. The coastal artwork by Tyler Dominey featured in all rooms throughout the lodge is for sale. Tyler's unique use of metals and high heat have created some special art for the collector.

Little Mayhall Island Suite, Eagle Island Suite and Jagger Island Suite all have king beds, fireplaces and double vanities in the baths. Mayhall Island Master Suite features a private balcony, TV and king bed with a master bath featuring a hot tub, double headed shower and double vanity. Only the finest linens are used for the ultimate sleep on your vacation.

The lodge has wireless internet, along with a media room complete with a TV and games. A queen bed is in the media room for extra guests. The great room seating area has a wood burning fireplace and a 50 inch flat screen TV, as well as a DVD player and a surround sound system. The outdoor kitchen and front porch have speakers with volume control. All bed and bath linens and robes are provided. Five bikes and a kayak are provided for your use. Please check our availability calendar and make plans for your getaway to Coastal Maritime Lodge, a Private Islands of Georgia property.

At Private Islands of Georgia Vacation Rentals, we pay great attention to detail when it comes to the kitchen. We have all the wares and accessories for everything from gourmet cooking, slow cooking a pork tenderloin, smoking a Boston butt to a coffee urn for large groups. If cooking is your thing, Private Islands of Georgia has you covered! All spices, coffee and paper products are provided.

At Private Islands of Georgia, we specialize in the outdoor kitchen at all properties for the complete coastal experience. Coastal Maritime Lodge features a gas and charcoal smoker grill, low country boil cook stand, the ultimate oyster steamer and, of course, a prep table and sink for your backyard party. Our guest services team will provide fresh seafood stocked at the lodge upon your arrival. We have done the have the fun!

Bring your own boat or rent ours. As a licensed captain for 20 years, my passion is being on the water. I fished on the Wendy's Hydra-Sports Fishing Team for eight years. I captained "Where's The Fish?" in over 100 King Mackeral tournaments throughout the southeast in the Southern Kingfish Association. Now my days on the water are spent providing guest services to our guests at Private Islands of Georgia. At Coastal Maritime Lodge, your backyard is the Georgia coast. All of our properties have water access, so while on your vacation you can explore the rivers, estuaries, creeks and sounds not to mention the Atlantic Ocean. I will work with you and make you comfortable with coastal navigation and how to boat on the Georgia coast. We offer maps and charts at all of our properties, as well as local knowledge. We'll help you enjoy all the boating activities the Georgia coast has to offer. Just ask!! We offer five bikes for touring the streets of Historic Darien, and a kayak to paddle the vast array of waterways.

Area Information
Coastal Maritime Lodge is only 20 minutes from St. Simons Island, Georgia. The quiet charm of the waterfront and fishing village of Darien is the best kept secret on the coast. The lodge is located on First Street, one block from the boat ramp and the Darien River. When you preview the pictures below, you can see the waterfront and charm of this special property. We are located one hour from either the Jacksonville or Savannah airports. Or, you can fly into the Brunswick airport on a Delta Connection and have only a 15 minute ride to the lodge. Only a 4 ½ hour drive from Atlanta. If coming by boat, take the intracoastal waterway to the Darien River and boat 20 minutes to the lodge and downtown Darien. Bring your own boat and explore our backyard.
