Reviews for this vacation home rental in Dauphin Island, Alabama

Very nice home, beautifully decorated, we went during the off season so it was very quiet. Took our 12 years old and 2 Dogs. House does sit on the Bayside walked through yard to the water and look for hermit crabs, but if you are looking to stay right on the water with the surf and sand, this is not the place. Overall really nice, and would recommend it as a quick, quiet getaway. Island itself is a really neat place to visit, with a lot of fun things to do within walking distance of the house.
Bay Watch Weekend
My husband and I (and our animals) greatly enjoyed our stay at Bay Watch. I grew up in Mobile and my grandparents live on Mobile Bay so we wanted this to be a trip home for me to visit my family that could also be a vacation. I also wanted my husband to experience the bay area and island as I did growing up and this definitely gave us that experience. The house is very welcoming and made us feel right at home as soon as we walked in the door. I drank my coffee on the porch every morning and miss it already. We LOVED the pool table and played everyday with my family. The house contained everything we needed for our stay. There were many times where I got a little worried because I forgot something and then found it conveniently in a drawer or cabinet 2 seconds later (i.e. extension cord, can opener, coffee filters, etc.). You can fish from the front yard which we did and easily launch a kayak there as well. My husband and I loved our hike at the Audubon Bird Sanctuary and our pizza and snow cone lunch at Island Rainbow. We also wish we had gotten even more pastries from Lighthouse Bakery. The rest of our trip we ate mostly seafood. If you don't have a way to catch it yourself (which we did since family was nearby with a shrimp boat and we brought our own fishing reels), you can drive to Skinner's right down the road. Based on another review I read before leaving, we did bring a TV from home since it is football season and we'd have family over to watch. It is not even a complaint, but if a bigger, high quality TV is important to you, the tv's here are a little outdated and on the smaller side, but they didn't bother me at all while it was just me and we had plenty of other things to do anyway. The internet is also very good so no worries there. If you want a nice, clean, welcoming home on a great little island with nice people and a place where you can just take a deep breath and relax, then this is the place to go. We will definitely be back.
We stayed in the lovely home for New Years. It was perfect. Large open concept in the kitchen/ living room. Perfect for family fun. Enjoyed the view from the back deck and living room. We can not wait to rent again during the spring or summer. The owner was very helpful with our NYE plans. What a gem.

I cannot say enough about this property. Bay View has a beautiful view. Very nice for a morning cup of coffee on the deck. The master bedroom mattress was to die for. Kitchen had everything needed. Very clean, roomy and furniture was comfortable. We truly enjoyed the pool table. The only down side was the tv's. They are very outdated and it would be wonderful to have a full size tv in the living room for all to view.
