“Blackbear #92”

Reviewed 15 Jan 2017

Stayed at blackbear resort cabin #92 six nights. We had two families of 5. There was plenty of room. Cabin was clean we had no issues. People at the main lodge were very friendly. Kids had a blast playing in the snow and sledding behind the cabin. We all loved it and would recommend it

“Beautiful cabin!”

We had an amazing time at this gorgeous destination. The cabin is even more beautiful in person. It's so close to the lodge but feels super private. We would definitely rent this cabin again!

Owner's reply: Thank you! We're happy to know that you enjoyed your stay. Kathy and Jeff

“Nice get-away house in the Mountains”

Reviewed 27 Jun 2016

Our family (2 adults, 2 children 9/10, and 1 hip grammie) had a great visit to the Leader Den. The house is well maintained, and nicely set up with comfortable furnishings and plenty of space. The kitchen had everything we needed. The little "resort" neighborhood has a lot to do, and all in walking distance - we took advantage of the heated pool with nice bathrooms and chairs/tables, the tennis court and mini golf all with equipment available to borrow. There are also several big stone fire pits around the neighborhood -- smores! We even caught several fish in the lower pond - so glad we brought our rods. The little grocery store nearby in Davis was well stocked. A cabinet of boardgames and some movies and books was a nice touch. Plenty of space in the house even for more than we had in our group - we spent most of our time in the kitchen/living room area, but the downstairs would have been a good hang out for a teen crowd. Master bedroom suite upstairs is quite nice with large bathroom and huge tub. Note that there is 1 full bathroom on each of the 3 floors of the house -- so the two bedrooms on the main floor mostly share a bathroom, so the full bedroom on the main floor doesn't have its own bath. The decks are both lovely (love the swing!) - if it hadn't rained we would have loved to sit outside more. We visited nearby Blackwater Falls State Park to hike and rent kayaks/paddleboats after picnicking. Would have loved to get to Dolly Sods or Seneca Rocks, but the weather didn't cooperate. Overall we had a lovely time, disconnected from the world and just hung out a lot. It was a very nice spot.

Owner's reply: Thank you for choosing to stay at our cabin! We're happy that you had a wonderful trip! Kathy and Jeff

“Canaan Valley- Black Bear Resort”

“Nice house”

Reviewed 1 May 2012

7 of us ranging in ages 34-86 had a girls weekend. The house was neat clean. Beds were comfortable Kitchen could use measuring spoons, measuring cups and cookie sheets but otherwise layout, dishes, pots pans were very good. Great idea to have a walk in on main level without having to carry groceries up steps. Baths were great

Owner's reply: We're glad that you found our cabin comfortable and easy to access! Our kitchen is stocked with quality items that we like to use ourselves. We appreciate you letting us know that a few items were missing and replaced them immediately. Sometimes items do not make it back into the intended cabinets and can be difficult to locate such at the cookie sheets. .
