Description of the Deer Isle vacation home rental
Reachview Estate is located on the northeastern portion of "Big Deer Isle", gracing the shores of the well known sailing waters of Eggemoggin Reach. Eggemoggin Reach is a breathtakingly picturesque body of water - 10 miles long and 1 mile wide, connecting East Penobscot Bay with Jerico Bay, and separating Deer Isle from the mainland. It has long been a favored sailing lane, thus providing Reachview Estate with impressive views of a variety of windjammers, lobster boats and other sailing vessels traversing its beautiful waters. Reachview Estate is a prime oceanfront property. Its 11 acres meander along the Eggemoggin Reach shoreline, enjoying rocky outcrops and private sandy beaches. 4 kayaks offer a spectacular way to explore the nearby coves and inlets, or venture further south to Merchants Row, an archipelago or nearly 40 islands between Deer Isle and Isle au Haut, or north to explore the majesty of the Deer Isle Bridge. Reachview Estate exudes casual charm and elegance. Quality furnishings and tasteful decor are throughout. Downstairs: The living room, dining room and family room are positioned on the water side of the home, all with ample windows and/or glass doors, accessing the back deck running along the full length of the back side of the property, each room capturing fabulous ocean views. A gabled and beamed ceiling in the living room gives a light and airy feel, with built-in window seating providing an added resting spot. On the front portion of the downstairs, a spacious kitchen and bedroom (full bed) overlook the professionally landscaped flower gardens along the front of the property. Upstairs: Three more spacious ocean view bedrooms (1 king, 2 queens) and upstairs den offer quality sleeping arrangements. Hardwood flooring, terracotta tile throughout. High speed internet, too! Reachview Estate provides privacy, luxury, and one of the areas most prestigious and scenic locations!!

Reachview Deer Isle

August 23, 2013

We (2 couples & 2 kids -10&12) had a wonderful time at Reachview. It is a lovely private home with a fabulous view of Eggemoggin Reach waterway from almost every window of the house. Rooms were comfortable and well supplied in kitchen equipment etc. You can spread out if you want to as well as pull together for long table meals... Highlights were, kayaking along the beautiful shoreline, lying in the two person hammock while watching the windjammers sail by, taking morning walks and cycles as well as going to the different farmers markets within half hours drive. (AND how can you forget the amazing veggies and homemade carmel sauce from the farm shop 3-4 doors up the road!). Don't forget to get a bottle of wine or 6 pack of beer to share in the late afternoon on the waters edge! It's the perfect place sharing a drink while watching the boats and birds go by. Thanks for setting the stage for a memorable holiday with my brother's family. There is no doubt special memories have been made which we all will hold dear for years to come.
