Description from owner

Nestled on a wooded lot, White Oak Point is a large, family oriented vacation home. If you are looking for a vacation spot to spend quality time with the family, this is it. With over 2500 of square feet on three floors there is plenty of space for relaxation. Upon entering the front door you are immediately stress free by the welcoming entrance and view of the beach and private lake. The main floor is open and inviting with hardwood floors, a family room area and cozy fireplace. Windows surround the main floor for beautiful views of the surrounding woods and lake. The kitchen is fully equiped with microwave, dishwasher, kitchen island, and dining table for 8, which can be extended for 12. A 12 X 38' deck invites you outside each morning for breakfast. Eat at the picnic table or sit on bar stools at the wide "bar style" railing. A gas grill is available for cooking your favorite summer fare. The lower level walkout has a sectional sofa seating area with TV and DVD player, an old pool table (perfect for kids play) and a full bath/laundry room. A 12 x 38' patio with picnic table and porch swing are just outside, perfect for you to enjoy watching the kids play bag toss, croquet, or volleyball in the huge lakeside yard! The large sandy beach is really where you will spend your days. It is nice and sandy with a gradual incline, very safe for small children. Small willow trees on half the beach area provide welcoming shade to nap or picnic under at mid day. A raft is 30 yards out for play and sunbathing. And, since the lake is really known for FISHING, a 12 foot pier with shoreline seating is the perfect spot to leisurely "cast a few" with your morning coffee or evening glass of wine. A rowboat is available for more serious fishing. The cottage itself sits surrounded on three sides by beautiful naturalized gardens fading into the woods. Short paths invite you to enjoy the ferns, hostas, and birds any time of the day. However, the evening is for smores at the campfire and stargazing on the beach. There is not a better way to end a summer day full of swimming, canoeing, fishing, or exploring than to sit around a campfire with easy conversation and smell the great outdoors. When you are finally ready, the main floor has two bedrooms and a full bath. On the 2nd floor, there are two large bedrooms, one with 4 twin beds and one with 3. Each of the upstairs bedrooms has floor space for a queen size blowup mattress as well. A convenient half bath is between the two bedrooms. White Oak Point will reward you with a good night's sleep, it is a very quiet lake, you will not feel like you are "sandwiched in" sharing your vacation with strangers. Overall, the cottage is very relaxing and user friendly. It was built to maximize family enjoyment with relaxation and quality time. We love every minute here and hope you will too.

“Great Times”

Reviewed 27 Sep 2016

Perfect cottage on gorgeous property. Had a guys weekend here. Nice private lake for kayak, canoe, fishing, and swimming. Had some great bonfires and grilled out. Spacious house, very private property. This place has everything you need for a relaxed but fun weekend. Lots of great things to do in the area but we didnt want to leave the lake much. Would love to come again. Thanks Randy & Ceci.

Owner's reply: You are welcome Tom! Your group was great ...thank-you for the rental, the review, the clean-up and YES ...please come back ...you are more than welcome. Thanks! Randy and Ceci

“Two week family venture”

Reviewed 7 Aug 2016

Grandkids(two 4 year olds and one 1 year old) loved the beach. Very private lake and surroundings. Great swimming for the family and fishing for the Dads. Roomy 3 level with great first floor wooden deck overlooking the lake. No air conditioning so 4 of the nights were tough sleeping especially on the upper level with high heat indexes/ high humidity. Plenty of fans kept it comfortable for most of the nights. Wi-Fi was sometimes unpredictable and only a few local TV channels available on the rainy days. VCR was available for viewing discs recordings. Randy and Ceci were great hosts.

“Another Great Year!”

Reviewed 16 Sep 2015

As always the Hayes' delivered on a fantastic family vacation. This is the third year in a row we visited this Delton lake home and again we were not disappointed. The property was immaculate, accomodations were above what was expected, and the fishing was great. Thanks to Randy and Cici for another fantastic year! We will definitely be back.

“Fun at the lake house”

Reviewed 23 Aug 2015

Three generations of our family had a fantastic time at the "lake house". There was plenty of room and so much to enjoy! The house and grounds were great and yet we weren't always worried about the kids destroying anything- very relaxing! We are talking about repeating the experience again and again.

Owner's reply: Hi Linda, Thank-you so much for your kind words ...they mean a lot to Ceci and I. We take great pride in the experience we provide our guests...as you found out ...Ceci is special in her ability to know all the right "little" touches that make the difference between a "stay" and a memory! We welcome you back with open arms ....peace Randy and Ceci

“Beautiful Secluded Spot”

Reviewed 17 Aug 2015

We stayed at White Oak Point Lake for a family vacation with children in August of 2015. We had such an amazing time. The fishing is fantastic! The beach was clean and there was sand for the kids. The house was filled with everything you could need for your trip. The only issues that arose were that there was limited internet, no cable, and during a fairly hot and humid week, no air conditioning. However, there were multiple fans which assisted in cooling down the home. The lack of cable and the limited internet connection led to quite a bit more family interaction than would normally take place, so it was actually a blessing in disguise. Definitely an enjoyable home and great place to have a family get together.

“Great Vacation on a Quiet Lake”

The cottage was the perfect quiet getaway. We stayed for 2 weeks and had a wonderful time. The kids (5, 4, 1) loved playing in the lake and on the sandy beach.

“Excellent!”

You truly only need to pack your clothes. Everything and more is supplied at this cottage. Games, toys, and beauty! Owners do an outstanding job of keeping this property clean and inviting. Very organized and prepared for all situations. Family Fare grocery store only 5 minutes away in Delton. We had a great time with our 3 young children and Grandma too! Thank you Randy and Ceci for a true "home away from home" weekend.

Owner's reply: We love all of our guests ...but our Canadian freinds are Awesome! Thanks Cyndi...come back and see us.

“Very nice place”

“relaxing”

Reviewed 1 Aug 2014

This home is just what we needed. Very, very clean which was extremely important to my sister in law and me! Cece and Randy are wonderful to work with and so accomadating. We loved having our private beach with no rocks ...the four kids enjoyed every minute using the row boat and kayakes. We could not have been any more pleased. The description on the internet is so accurate of the cottage and the fishing was great off the pier.

“Peaceful relaxation”

Reviewed 22 Jul 2014

This property was the epitomy of a quiet, relaxing vacation. The lake is small, but plenty big for kayaking or canoeing. Set back off the busy roads, it is so peaceful. The cottage is very good size and there is room for all. We used it to celebrate an anniversary with our grown children and their families. Ceci & Randy are gracious, and make sure you are well taken care of. Take note, there is only one TV, and it only receives one local channel, but it is refreshing to get away from the daily news reports, and the general push of day to day life. They do offer wifi, so you can watch a movie or so. If you like to fish, the lake is great for that also. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. For those who like to sightsee, there are some wonderful places to visit that are not too far away. Ie. Kellogg manor, Gilmore car museum, etc. All in all , we would recommend this property for a great getaway.
