~ Perfectly Charming and Modern ~
Located in Capital Hill (originally Brown's Bluff) of Denver, this hip neighborhood is eclectic and colorful. This is one of the most vibrant and convenient locations in all of Denver. With a walkscore.cm of 92% the home is close to downtown but not too close. Whole Foods market is only 6 blocks away.......... Located on historic Pearl St. the home is modern and uniquely decorated.
Just a short walk (5 blocks) to the Capital building and 16th Street Mall (6 blocks) puts you in the middle of downtown. ....less than 3 miles from any of Denver's sporting venues. The free 16th Street Mall shuttle continues through downtown Denver to Union Station. Everything Denver has to offer is within a 3 mile radius of the home..(not everything but pretty close).
Beautiful light shines through all the windows in this home as it faces a historic mansion and yard....not an apartment building in this dense downtown neighborhood. The street is filled with an urban mix of mansions, condos and apartment complexes. Very eclectic which is what I love. You won't be disappointed with this rental for your visit to Denver.
The home has an open floor plan (approximately 2100 sf) that flows with warmth. The remodel kept the original architecture, but added some modern conveniences. There are 3 bedrooms on the second floor (q,q and a double). The "master" bedroom is located at the front of the house with views of historic Pearl St. The sitting area in the turret is perfect for taking in a good book. Bedroom 3 (on the opposite end of the home) has the antique iron double bed and a nice private deck with views of the mountains and local neighborhood. The lower level "master" bedroom has a "Tempur-pedic" queen size bed and is Colorado themed. Please note this home is 110 years old, and the stairs to the basement are built a bit steep. There is also an exit door in the basement to the back yard.
All linens, towels, tp and paper towels are provided. The gourmet kitchen is open and spacious with plenty of room to relax and entertain or just enjoying your favorite meal. The spacious and bright kitchen has been outfitted with top of the line appliances, as well as formal dining room adjacent to the kitchen.
The home has been furnished with everything needed to maximize relaxation and comfort. The airy flow of the home's layout adds to the charm of your stay. The original Victorian details have been maintained with beautiful hardwood floors. The old world craftsmanship and period details are a stand out.
The home has, four (4) Flat Screen TV's(living area TV with HD) with Cable, Wireless Internet access throughout the house, there is even a home office complete with a Gateway media center computer system and printer--------------------
Everything has been thought of to make your stay one of ease, comfort and warmth. A real home away from home. Please see the some of the previous guest's comments on this site.
We look forward to you staying in our home...

The "Bear" stayed here - 01/16/2008 Don't miss staying at this beautiful, early twentieth century Victorian house located in the heart of the city of Denver. With its beautiful moldings around the doors, windows and ceiling and original hardwood floors, this Denver vacation rental was definitely one of the most unique houses this little bear has visited. Papa Bear said it was one of his favorite properties that he's ever stayed at.
We loved the warm and inviting paint colors, exposed brick, beautiful light fixtures and antique decor. We felt at home right away. The beautiful, fully stocked, updated kitchen made it easy to cook all our meals. We also loved the unique fireplaces all over the house and all the conveniences of home.
This vacation home is within walking distance to the 16th Street Mall, and with so much to do downtown, you will never have to go very far to have a great time. Enjoy great restaurants like the Cheesecake Factory, Maggiano's and Wolfgang Puck, just to name a few.
So come and experience all Denver has to offer. I know you won't be disappointed!

o This is such a beautiful home - and well-appointed. We made an entire Thanksgiving meal in the kitchen! Cozy and charming - but entirely updated. Situated in a fantastic, historic neighborhood, we walked to almost everything. Our seven-month-old even approved! Would stay here again in a second - perfect for away from home family gatherings.

o A group of us went to Denver for business in November 2009. I was surprised how easy it was to get around Denver from this location, and it was only a mile from our downtown convention site. Even though we were there during a major snowstorm, the house was a perfect respite from the storm, close to lots of dining options, and in a really convenient neighborhood. My colleagues and I had a great time, as the house was immaculate, updated, and cozy at the same time. I loved the easy access to parking, since I had a rental car. If the weather had been nicer, it was an easy walk to downtown or the bus to the convention center. My colleagues and I are big foodies, so the well-stocked kitchen made cooking at home a treat! Also, street parking was pretty easy, even in a snowstorm - never more than two blocks away (although there is a one car garage, too). I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Denver! Thanks!

o Ed We were so impressed with the quality and comfort of the home. We also enjoyed feeling like locals able to return to our own place after a busy day. Thanks for that. We also enjoyed several of your home décor themes And we're inspired to consider similar themes in our own 'New to us' lake house...Again thanks for everything.
Rosalie , Huntingdon, PA
o BRAVO! My colleagues and I rented this beautiful and well kept home while we attended a conference downtown. Ed was very helpful - quick to answer calls and questions and we were in a great location to reach the 16th street Mall, with tons of FABULOUS restaurants (you must try Rioja and Tamayo). Thank you sooooooo much!

o Back in Denver for the birth of our first grandchild (3 weeks earlier than planned). We all wanted you to know how much we enjoyed staying in the Pearl Street house over the 4th. Everything was fantastic, the location was perfect for us, we were able to enjoy the patio area, and the house was so comfortable. If we ever have a group get together again in Denver, I am sure we will try to stay in your rental. Thanks, Rebecca Zacharias

o On a recent trip to Denver I stayed at this rental property and I must say it was an extraordinary experience. As soon as I walked through the front door I felt at home in the spacious and beautifully decorated living room. The house has everything you would need. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a place to stay in Denver.

o This is a Five Star Home, June 9, 2009 By Peggy Finley (West Dundee, IL USA) I recommend this house to anyone who wants to feel warm, safe and comfortable amid style and good taste! This home is centrally located and was the perfect hub for our scattered family to come together in celebration of my daughter's many accomplishments. We grocery shopped blocks away at the new Whole Foods, enjoyed long morning coffee chats in the beautifully landscaped back yard, stayed up late at night reminiscing around the oh so beautiful (and compfortable)dining set, and slept peacefully in the very comfortable beds. The kitchen had everything we needed from tupperware to skillets, to fun dishes. Bathrooms are well equipped with an abundance of fluffy white towels, and there are many flat screen TV's throughout the house. Nothing lacked other than my ability to figure out the coffee pot, but not to worry, the French Press coffee pot (no electronic savvy necessary) was right there at hand. Definitely a 5 Star Home

o Greetings Ed, Thank you for a great place! We had 4 business professionals stay at your home for 4 nights. All I heard was fabulous reviews. I hope to rent your house time and time again. If you are looking for a superb, well maintained, close to downtown location, rent this house! :)

o As an owner of 6 vacation rentals myself I would like to say "Bravo" to Ed for his beautiful home on Pearl Street! From the welcoming light spilling out the windows when we pulled up to the warm cozy bedding, no detail has been left out of this home! Comfy, homey, downright livable!! We come to Dever two or three times a year and this will always be my home of choice when we do! You can't stay in a generic hotel for the price and you have 10 times the amount of space plus a rockin kitchen! But who cooks when you are so close to all of the amazing downtown restaurants! Loved having my own coffee and breakfast though in the bright cheery kitchen. Ed checked on us during our stay and after, customer service at it's finest! You are definately doing it right! Can't wait to stay again, I will be telling all of my friends up here in Sheridan that this is "the" place to stay!! Thanks, for EVERYTHING!! Shelley Kinnison, Wink's of Wyoming
Within the perimeters of Denver's Capitol Hill district, you will find one of the most diverse and eclectic neighborhoods the city has to offer. Squared off by Broadway, Colfax, Downing and Sixth Avenue, Cap Hill for short, is teeming with pink-haired, pierced and tattooed hipsters, who live in one of the many studio or one-bedroom apartments in the area.
Located just north of Denver's downtown, Capitol Hill pales in comparison to the large, vertical reaches of the business district, but its buildings have a charm all their own since most of them were built around the 1920s. Between 10th and 11th Streets on Sherman Street, you'll find Poet's Row, a block of historic apartment complexes all named after lyrical luminaries such as Emily Dickenson and Robert Frost. It is even more appropriate considering Alan Ginsberg and Jack Kerouac once resided on the hill.
Capitol Hill is bolstered by Cheeseman Park, a grassy expanse that is technically north of the neighborhood, though many consider it a Capitol Hill park. Stop by any weekend afternoon, and the dirt path that circumvents the park will be clogged with joggers and speed walkers. Governor's Park, on 7th and Logan Streets has a swing set, but due to its small size, it is remains largely unfrequented.
Governor's Park Bar & Grill on the other hand, is in a constant state of overflow, especially during happy hour, which it is well known for. Charlie Brown's just up the street is another neighborhood watering hole and a favorite of the road-worn beat poets, Kerouac and Ginsberg. The 35-year-old piano bar shared a building with The Colburn Hotel, one of many places to stay on Capitol Hill. The Burnsley Hotel is another option, and is located across the street on 10th and Grant. Don't want the tradition hotel stay? Try the Capitol Hill Mansion Bed & Breakfast Inn, and in the morning, head over to Penn Street Perk, the only coffee shop in the area that challenges Starbucks' popularity.

What a wonderful place to stay. Our family gathered there for Thanksgiving from around the USA. Pictures of the home do not completely display the warmth and charm this house holds. All the creature comforts are afforded to all who stay here. Our family enjoyed the stay and today count our time there as one of our most memorable holiday vacations in over 35 years. This home will be our first choice for our next family gathering. Well done, Ed. Well done! Many thanks for allowing our brood to spend time there!

Thanks Ed for letting our family stay at your beautiful home. The location was suburb and the furnishings were perfect. All of the nice touches made us really feel at home. We would recommend this vacation home to anyone visiting Denver especially if they wanted easy access to downtown. The neighborhood was convenient to most everything, Downtown, Cherry Creek and the bike path. We even could walk to the market. Thanks again from all of us. Catherine and Ray
