Perfect Christmas Get-Away

December 29, 2015

This was the second year that our family decided to gather at a cabin for Christmas. With 6 adults and 2 children, this cabin in Divide was the perfect place to get away and create a magical white Christmas. To start, the directions provided by the home owners were excellent and easy to follow. We arrived in three separate cars at different times, and we all found the house easily - even at night. The house was cozy but provided ample space for the 8 of us. With 3 queen bedrooms and a basement bunk room for the kids, we fit perfectly, and were able to accomodate various sleep schedules without noise from the awake individuals causing a problem. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils and pots and pans. We did run out of papertowels, but there were ample cloth towels for clean-up. It snowed while we were there, so we took advantage of the sled hill and had a blast. Overall our stay was pleasant and the home owners were very helpful and responsive. We would certainly recommend this property to others looking for a mountain retreat and may even consider it for our 2016 holiday plans.

Owner's reply:

Thank you. You were all wonderful to work with. We would love to have you back to your mountain home. Our repeat guests become like family even if we never get to meet them. Thank you!

quiet retreat

January 8, 2014

we arrived 5 minutes before nightfall and it was a good thing. it is very remote and quiet. the roads were in very good shape and a snow plow came and scraped the dirt roads the day after we had a snow front move in. the house stayed warm and comfy. the beds were soft and snuggly. the kids found the bunk room in the basement and we hardly saw them the rest of the trip. plenty of room for the 4 adults and 3 kids to spread out. if you have trouble with the high altitude I would caution you to take your aspirin, drink plenty of water, and then sit around and take it easy. the views were lovely and the wildlife was exciting to see.

Property on Sangre de Cristo,

January 4, 2013

We spend a week at this property at the top of the Mountain. Very secluded spot but was breath taking. The views were just beautiful, waking up to the sun coming in the windows in the morning. Took a walk on the property was very peaceful. If you like the mountains it was a place to stay very clean and comfortable had everything you could want. Even though the cold monthes was great.

Owner's reply:

Thank you! We welcome you back any time!

kid friendly

We enjoyed an anniversary celebration here. We have 5 little girls 5 and under so staying here was much better than a stuffy motel room. There were lots of kid activities and the men watched the US Open on the flat screen. It seemed to offer something for all of us 2-60! Highly recommend. I have told my friends about it!

Peaceful Retreat

May 6, 2009

Four couples stayed in this beautiful cabin and we never felt crowded. We all were surprised at the amount of wildlife that surrounds the cabin. The deer come right up to the deck and the howling of the coyotes was awesome to hear. (We all highly recommend the Wolf Sanctuary) This cabin was the perfect place to unwind after a hectic day of sight-seeing and all stresses just seemed to melt away. Thank you for providing a place that is so welcoming and warm. It was such a blessing to be able to see what beautiful and amazing places that Colorado has. We definitely enjoyed our stay and we will back soon!

Wonderful place to visit- Divide, CO

June 6, 2007

My husband and I stayed in this gorgeous cabin/home for a week. We never wanted to leave. Beautiful, peaceful. So much better than a busy lodge or hotel. The home and property are just gorgeous. We were so relaxed. Made us wish we could stay and live there. The owners are wonderful to deal with. The cabin is worth much more than they charge to stay there. We plan to go again.
