Description of the Don Pedro Island vacation home rental
Coquina Cove is your very own private tropical oasis in the sun. This wonderful well kept 2 bedroom 2 bath lagoon-front home offers great Gulf and water views from every room, warm gulf breezes and your own private dock. Decorated in a tropical island style you'll enjoy quiet walks down the beach with hardly a person in sight! No crowds here, just miles of unspoiled, 100% natural Florida (the way it used to be!). World renowned shelling, fantastic sunsets, bird watching galore, kayaking right out the back door (3 kayaks included), dolphins, gopher tortoise, and a lively lagoon where fish jump all day long. Don Pedro State park is a short walk down the beach. You'll want to capture the Island's charm by traveling via golf cart, we rarely use cars here. Golf cart rental is available.

Bring your boat or rent one for the ultimate in Florida lifestyle. The private dock will accommodate a single boat up to 22 feet. Like to fish? Fish right off the dock or try your luck surf fishing or book a charter with one of the local guides for a thrilling day of sportfishing or backwater challenges. Trout, Redfish, Snook, Tarpon and Grouper are just a few of the many species that call our waters home.

Don Pedro Island (Palm Island) is a barrier island and a stones throw from the mainland. You'll arrive via a short car ferry ride that takes about 3 minutes. Our island has a terrific resort that offers a casual restaurant, ice cream and small convenience store and a pirate show for the kids. The island is almost all single family homes so you'll quickly find it has a pristine non-commercial family feel. There are no large high-rise resorts, beach bars or traffic and noise. If you're looking for that place in the sun that you can actually hear the wind whistle through the palms you've found your place.

Sleeps 4 comfortably, 5 with use of deluxe futon. No smoking. Pets allowed with owner's permission and additional pet deposit. Fenced area for your convenience. Spacious, open floor plan. Fully equipped kitchen. Nice screened patio that opens into the living room. Master bedroom with private bath. Cable TV, high-speed wireless internet, hammock, hot tub and more!

Area Information
Off island you'll be close to restaurants, shops, golf courses and world famous Boca Grande as well as other attractions. As we like to say ... civilization is close but not too close. Boca Grande offers exclusive shopping, dining and sightseeing. By boat you can reach Cayo Costa Island State Park and Cabbage Key where Jimmy Buffet was inspired to write Cheeseburger In Paradise. Do it all, or do nothing at all, that's the Island Lifestyle. It's laid back, always casual (leave your tie at home) and Florida at its best!

Coquina Cove is a great vacation getaway. We were there for 9 weeks with our pets and we enjoyed every minute. Steps to beautiful, uncrowded Gulf beach-and a dock on the property for fishing. House is great-comes with all you need.We especially enjoyed the screened porch and the lower level hammock and outdoor hottub and shower.Island is friendly and the Island restaurant has great food. I would give this one an A+.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What are the most fun things to do at your vacation rental?
A: Beach combing, family time, fishing, being lazy, swinging in a hammock.
Q: What makes your vacation rental special?
A: The island is very secluded with a semi-private feel to it. Sometimes, the beach is totally deserted with not a soul in sight. We've walked miles and not seen one other person (really!). It is old Florida at its best and likely one of the last real unspoiled locations in all of Florida.
Q: Please tell me about the Ferry service and how it works.?
A: The island is accessible by a short car ferry ride from the mainland. It only takes about 3 minutes to cross over to the island but that short ferry ride transforms your soul. The ride over is about $40 so make sure you plan your trip with full provisions for your stay.
Q: Is there a restaurant and bar on the island?
A: Yes! The Rum Bay restaurant and bar is located at the north end of the island inside the Palm Island Resort. It is a low-key, casual, setting with some great island style food with a tropical flair. The bar has an all-day happy hour on Wednesday which is also fun.
