About the area

Dunedin is home to three of the world's best rated beaches. Dunedin Causeway - walk/bicycle the 2 mile paved trail or park by the waters edge for a day at the beach or sunsets. Honeymoon Island State Park (at the end of Dunedin Causeway) and Caladesi Island State Park - beautiful white sand beaches and unobstructed Gulf of Mexico views in a preserved natural Florida setting, and a water taxi across the St. Joseph Sound. Dunedin is one of the few open waterfront communities from Sarasota to Cedar Key where buildings do not completely obscure the view of the Intracoastal Waterway and the Gulf of Mexico beyond; a 1-mile (1.6 km) stretch of Edgewater Drive (also known as Alternate US 19) south of downtown Dunedin Marina offers views of St. Joseph Sound, Clearwater Beach, and Caladesi Island. Downtown Clearwater and Clearwater Beach are a 6-mile (10 km) drive south on Edgewater. A water taxi to Clearwater Beach is available from downtown Clearwater Coachman Park. Downtown Dunedin is notable for concerts in the park, street festivals, farmers markets, and its absence of large commercial signage, corporate franchise restaurants or chain retail stores. The Pinellas Trail, a 39-mile-long (63 km) bicycle and pedestrian trail that traverses all of Pinellas County, bisects downtown Dunedin. A large portion of the trail lies on the former roadbed of the Orange Belt Railway, the first railroad in Pinellas County, which arrived in 1888. Since 1977, Dunedin is the spring training home of the Toronto Blue Jays, as well as the class-A Dunedin Blue Jays of the Florida State League. Dunedin is one of the smallest communities used by Major League spring training teams. Florida Auto Exchange Stadium is situated next to the Dunedin Public Library a few blocks south of downtown on Douglas Avenue, and is just two blocks east of Edgewater Drive. The stadium was built as a replacement to Grant Field, the Blue Jays' first spring training ball park. The library was founded in 1895 and is the oldest public library in Pinellas County.

“Excellent experience!”

Reviewed 8 May 2016

Our winter vacation lasted for three months, from January -- March, and was truly an excellent experience from start to finish. Our "home away from home" couldn't have been more comfortable or welcoming. Everything we needed was provided, and its location couldn't have been more convenient. Highly recommend to anyone! Owner's reply: I heard from so many neighbors how much they enjoyed you and your wife's company. Best to you both!

“Great location”

Reviewed 8 Apr 2015

This condo is in a relatively small complex that also has a boat marina. There is a community pool with a heated spa. The unit is well furnished - has everything you could want - ample bedding, towels, OK kitchen, washer and dryer in the unit, spacious bedrooms and has a great location. Directly across street from walk/bike trail and 2 golf courses. Caladesi Island/ Honeymoon Island are both just minutes away with shopping and grocery very close by. Owner is very accommodating. Good property!

Owner's reply: Was great to have you enjoy the place again. Thank you!
