We all need that special holiday and Cowpet Bay, and specifically this condo, fit the bill perfectly. The gentle trade winds flowing through, the lapping of the gentle waves underneath the terrace, warm waters and breathtaking views. I was lucky enough to spend a week there earlier this year and have never felt so relaxed and content. If you like discovery there's plenty to do, snorkelling in various bays on the Island, or a trip to St John (takes about 30 minutes). The accommodation at the condo is perfect: two en-suite bedrooms, lounge with views directly over Cowpet Bay with the bobbing sailing boats, dining area and fully fitted kitchen. I would highly recommend this home away from home and hope to return in the not too distant future. A little bit of heaven. --Sue, Switzerland
Wonderful Villa in a Beautiful Location
Our visit to Windose villa was wonderful. The unit has everything one needs for the perfect stay, and the owners are truly gracious and professional. The villa itself is immaculately clean, spacious, and comfortable. It is fully equipped and supplied, more accommodating and more thoughtfully than any of the other rental arrangements we have made over the years. The owners even provided a guide book with pictures and information about the other beaches on the island so we could consider what day trips we would most want to take. But one actually doesn't need to go anywhere else! The location could not be more perfect. The villa really is directly on the beach with incredible views and easy access to the water. The resort itself has lovely grounds, a beautifully kept beach, and all the amenities one could ask for. Both restaurants right on the property are great, the pool area is lovely, and equipment for water sports is available right there as well. The locale on the island was ideal, as well: Red Hook just minutes down the road for additional dining options and the ferry or barge to St. John. It was just a short drive to the city center of Charlotte Amalie for more dining options and shopping. We did extensive research before our trip, and the value of this accommodation is amazing! It was a pleasure to do business with the owners, and an absolutely superb place for our visit: it was truly a perfect experience start to finish. Jeanne B.
We had a fabulous stay at the Windrose Villa. The condo was clean, well-equipped and just steps from the beach and water. What we enjoyed most about this vacation was the delightful ocean breeze that flows through the condo. The resort was well kept, the beach pristine with plenty of shade trees and amenities. We enjoyed coconut shrimp at Sangria's restaurant on the beach, margaritas at the pool bar and snorkeling in the bay. It's the perfect spot for rest, relaxation and fun. The villa is very close to Red Hook where we enjoyed some off site restaurants as well as the ferry boat to St. John. I highly recommend this resort and this villa in particular - the location is ideal. Nancy, New Jersey
The condo had everything we needed. It was well organized, clean, and in the perfect location. We did a lot of day trips to the BVI's and to St John so having Red Hook right down the street was perfect. There were two grocery stores and a good variety of restaurants close by (my favorite was the Caribbean Fish Market and my kids favorite was Señor Pizza and the Ritz Carlton) The balcony or lanai was perfect. It provided shade, privacy and I loved watching the boats and the kids from the yacht club learning how to sail. We used the pool and the hot tub every night and my kids loved the water fall. Having a full size washer and dryer in the condo makes vacationing with kids so much easier. The internet was excellent and I loved laying on the couch at night with my kids watching tv (there were a ton of channels and a wide variety of movies). This condo was an excellent choice for us. We enjoyed our stay at this well-stocked condo. It had everything we needed. The location was perfect...away from the hustle and bustle, but close to amenities. We went to St. John a couple of times and appreciated that Red Hook is just a short drive (5 minutes). We also went to a couple of the beaches close by and enjoyed the Cowpet Bay beach. Sangria's restaurant had yummy pizza and it was great sitting beach side enjoying dinner. The condo and surrounding area were so quiet. All you could hear was the gentle surf...a great way to fall asleep or wake up! Wendy M.
My family and I just spent one week at the Windrose Villa and we had an amazing time. The villa is perfectly located with an amazing view of the bay. The beach is literally steps from the front door. The condo has everything that you need and more. There are 2 restaurants on the property but you are literally 5 to 10 minutes from everything. . . . restaurants, markets, red hook ferry, snorkeling trips, other beautiful beaches, etc. We will definately rent this villa again the next time we vacation in Saint Thomas. A dream come true! The view of crystal clear turquoise Cowpet Bay is stunning! This sea front condo is perfectly located with direct access to a private sugar soft sandy beach. Gentle waves, tropical breezes, palm trees and beach chairs await you!
Located in a beautifully maintained gated complex on the picturesque bay with a private pool, this lovely condo is stylishly appointed with everything you need to enjoy your stay in paradise. Quiet, comfortable, relaxing. There is even a spacious balcony perfect for relaxing and dining right on the water.
You can also take a short stroll down the beach to the open air restaurant at the left end of the bay or go right and you have the St. Thomas Yacht Club!
Restaurants and shops are a short drive away. Day trips to other islands are also easily arranged.
A truly amazing vacation property in the perfect spot! Beach Lover, North Carolina
We loved every minute of our stay at this beautiful Cowpet Bay condo. I cannot say enough good things about Pam, the owner. She was very responsive. The condo is outfitted with many more conveniences than most that I have rented on ********. There was even sunscreen and bug spray in a basket in the kitchen. We chose not to rent a car which worked out to be the best decision for us. Everyone was able to have a good time and enjoy cocktails around the island without having to worry about driving. I personally would never rent a car here. Leave it to the experts who are used to driving on the opposite side of the winding roads. Ask the hotel desk (on the other side of the property) for driver Christian Thomas. We used his services all week. He was extremely professional and catered to all of our touristy needs.
The grounds at Cowpet Bay are beautiful and well manicured. We visited in the low season and it felt as if we had the resort to ourselves. We enjoyed just lounging around and snorkeling on property. Snorkel gear is for rent in the little beach hut. I snorkeled the entire bay and the best area is the left side. Just snorkel along the rocks. Easy swimming if he winds are not too strong. Saw a decent variety of fish (including one big, cute puffer fish) and some neat conch type shells on the bottom. I felt it was better than some of the "well known" snorkeling areas on ST which are over-run with tourists. We ate at both restaurants on property. We loved the outdoor tiki restaurant where we enjoyed pizza and sandwiches. The Fish Market is pricey and the food was just ok. Take a taxi to Red Hook and check out some of the restaurants and bars. It is a quick 5-10 minute taxi ride (not walkable).
As soon as you walk into the condo, all of your cares will melt away! Even for those of us who had to work (a little) while on vacation. By the way - the wireless was excellent. Overall, a marvelous stay. Beth H., Florida
