Description from owner
Welcome to Lake Charlevoix the Magnificent. Lake Charlevoix is ranked one of the best Inland Lakes in the Country for a reason. 56 miles of shoreline, surrounded by quaint waterfront resort towns, restaurants, shops, events, etc. We are located on the South Arm of Lake Charlevoix, which is ideal for water skiing, knee boarding, wake surfing, kayaking, etc. The South Arm is notably calmer and warmer than the North Arm.
Our place ~ Yes we are Waterfront and have a private on site boat slip available for your exclusive use! You literally walk in thru your private entry and immediately see Amazing Views of the Lake thru the Large main Level sliding door. Step out onto the large 8 x 20 balcony and take a deep breathe as you experience the unobstructed views and fresh air of norther Michigan.
Condo-Townhouse: We are part of a small complex consisting of 6 independantly owned townhouse style condo units, each with their own private entry/exits. We are on the end.
Our unit is a 3 story 1,800 Sq. Ft. Walk-out to the water vacation home. It is spacious and consists of 2 plus bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms and 2 living rooms, a laundry room and plenty of closet space. It's great because it gives the kiddos and adults a separate space.
Details of Layout:
Main Level: The kitchen is very well appointed! We Have everything to make your stay convenient and user friendly. Every small appliance such as crock pot. Stick dinner in the crock pot and come back from boating and you're set. Also have griddle, blender, coffee grinder, chopper, George Foreman grill. There is a small living room on main level, TV, dining area, balcony, with a gas grill and seating, 1/2 bath and closet space.
Go upstairs to the large Master Bedroom with a California King bed, Ceiling fan, TV and walk-in closet. 2nd Bedroom has two (2) bunks. One bunk bed has a full and a twin mattress. Other is a twin over twin. There is a full bathroom on the upper level.
Lower Level Walk-out:
Lower level takes you to the large sliding glass doors out onto the patio where you are literally feet away from the water! The lower level has a large family room with plenty of seating, a fireplace, full bathroom, and a laundry room with front loading washer and dryer! The lower level family offers versatility to sleeping arrangements because there is a queen sofa bed and two (2) twin ottoman pull-outs. These additional sleepers are there to give options in sleeping arrangements, rather than to permit exceeding owners desired occupancy.
Step outside to the patio where you will find outdoor seating and a fire-pit. We have a common area.
This is a typical Michigan Inland lake. Our shoreline depends upon the annual water levels. We have a retaining wall to try to combat erosion. Our common area is well kept grassy area, WHICH I love because you don't have to worry about getting sand all over everything, especially into your summer cocktail! We have an on site sand box for the little ones adjacent to the stairs to the lake. Which is nice because you can keep an eye on the small ones and rinse 'em off in the lake if necessary. ; )
Private Boat Slip:
docking system with private on site boat slip that holds up to a 30 foot boat. This is for the exclusive use of our guests. WHAT IS AWESOME ABOUT OUR PLACE AND LOCATION is that the moment the lake conditions are perfect for skiing or tubing or surfing, just hop in the boat, pull it out of the slip and GO! You can fish right off the slip too.
Boat and Jet Ski rentals: If you don't have your own PWC, there are boat and jet ski rental companies all over Lake Charlevoix. Two are on the South Arm. in close vicinity to our place.

“Great condo, great location”
Very nice and very clean condo in a great location, right on the waterfront of the calmer lower arm of Lake Charlevoix. Boat rentals are practically right next door at Swan Valley Marina. Short drive to Charlevoix and Boyne City, and very short drive to East Jordan. All can be visited by boat as well! We would definitely stay there again :)
Owner's reply: We truly appreciate excellent guests like you and your family and happily welcome you back any time!!
We rented this townhouse on Lake Charlevoix with our two young children and another family. We had a such a wonderful time! The townhouse is very clean, with updated fixtures and appliances. The furniture was comfortable. The townhouse is on three levels with more than enough space. We spent quite a bit of time sitting on the porch or in the yard while the children played along the shore and in the water. It is shallow for quite a ways which is great for little ones. The property is very well maintained. The weather was great. The townhouse came with a boat slip that was easy to access and use. Lake Charlevoix itself is just beautiful. We were spoiled by our many adventures on the water. The home-owners have gathered all sorts of local information and made a wonderful reference binder with lots of things to do. The townhouse is located close to Charlevoix, Boyne, Petoskey and even Traverse City isn't too far - all great locations for both summer and winter activities! We found the owners to be very nice and a pleasure to work with. We have finally found a place that we could rent as "regulars" and we are so excited about that!
Owner's reply: We are so happy that your family and friends had a great vacation! Thank you for being awesome guests and for treating our home like your home. We welcome you back any time of year and look forward to helping you make awesome memories next summer and every summer thereafter!
We had a great time. The condo has beautiful water views and is very clean, though a little off the beaten path.
Owner's reply: Our awesome Lake Charlevoix just took runner up to Lake Charlevoix as the Best Lake in America Competition by USA today! : ) The location of our waterfront condo on the South Arm of Lake Charlevoix which places you within 3-15 drving miles from Boyne City, City of East Jordan and city of Charlevoix which actually overlooks the marina on Round Lake. Check out this USA Today Article of Why you should visit Lake CharlevoixBy Laura Bly, USA TODAYUpdated 6d 3h ago Comments Tahoe came out on top in our recent reader poll on America's best lake, and I'll be exploring the popular alpine outpost later this week for a travel story running Aug. 10. But as its many fans made clear, the second-place finisher has plenty to offer, as well. Just east of Lake Michigan, this inland lake offers an idyllic getaway.CAPTIONBy Harbor House Publishers Though I grew up in southern Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Mendota (a sentimental favorite, but not on our shortlist), I wasn't familiar with runner up Lake Charlevoix, Michigan - or another nearby lake north of Traverse City that earned several write-in votes, Torch Lake. RELATED: America's best lake: And the winner is... PHOTOS: Best lakes in America Now, I'm "smitten with the mitten" (a reference to Michigan's hand-shaped geography). A few arguments in its favor from our readers: Nancy M. Dammann: "To be fair, all these lakes are amazing. But here are a couple of other Lake Charlevoix facts worth mentioning--from any point on Lake Charlevoix, you can sail to any ocean in the world and many other lakes. Near the mouth of the lake, there is a natural safe harbor that often shelters international sailors and boaters who have left the oceans in the fall, under the false assumption that the Great Lakes will be safer than the oceans. Charlevoix's harbors have often hosted storm fleeing sailboats and provided them a home throughout entire winters. Lake Charlevoix has also been a seasonal destination since pre-Columbian times, providing an important summer place to Native Americans in the area. In addition, residents are also trying to raise funds to buy a significant chunk of lake shore (a former summer camp) and turn it into a permanent public park. The lake is 18 miles long, 3.5 miles wide at its widest, and has two arms (the South arm is 11 or 12 miles long and often much calmer than the Northern arm). It is home to loons, and ducks, and fish, the occasional otter, gorgeous boats, and amazing people and communities." Karen Kent Guzniczak: "We've owned a retail store in Boyne City for 22 years and talk to thousands of people every year from all over the world. The comments we hear are always about how blessed we are. People are amazed at how clean and clear Lake Charlevoix is. A young child from our area went on vacation with his parents to the Caribbean and when they they flew over the water he said 'Look Lake Charlevoix.'" Stephanie Balch: "Sandy beaches, access to restaurants, great fishing, gorgeous harbors in quaint Northern Michigan towns ... and a short boat ride through Round Lake and the Pine River Channel puts you on Lake Michigan! Not a more beautiful lake to view the fall foliage." Laurie Szabo-Dill: "Got married overlooking Lake Charlevoix, and still have people tell me it was the most beautiful wedding they've ever been to!" Chase Petroelje: "With several small, tourist-adored towns surrounding it, Lake Charlevoix boasts some of the world's finest sunsets, beaches, boating and gastronomy ... a shallow ledge outlines the entire lake, making it ideal for families, and anchoring for a day of relaxation. If that's not enough, it was the location for the wedding of world-famous author Ernest Hemingway and his wife. You know you've found an extraordinary lake when much of it is bordered by multimillion dollar houses, private water planes, and some of the largest yachts you'll ever see!" G.T. Long: "Lake Charlevoix is where the Gods swim....other lakes may be pretty, but Lake Charlevoix is spiritual in its beauty, clear, clean, deep, and big, situated on hills and a hundred shades of green
“Charlevoix, Michigan Condo Experience”
The condo is clean, clean, clean. The beds are comfortable. The kitchen has everything a cook needs and more. It is easy driving to Charlevoix, Boyne City and Petoskey. There is a nice firepit for evenings. It is directly on the lake which is clean, and also is a good fishing lake. If you decide to rent, there is a marina within walking distance. It is far enough removed from town to have some much needed peace and quiet from our busy lives yes close enough to get to the action if you wish. Have a great trip and don't miss this condo!
