Knocking on Heaven's Door

July 28, 2014

We had an idyllic stay at the Sweeney's Guest House in Orleans, Massachusetts. We were conveniently located just a half mile from the dunes and waves of Nauset Beach. The impeccably landscaped grounds were bursting with bright colored flowers and plants. The guest quarters were spotlessly clean and well appointed. The decor theme was a Cape Cod masterpiece - every niche boasted ornate pictures of sea and shore, boats and lighthouses, personally authored by the owner, Cay. The birds serenaded us and so did "Jeremiah" the bullfrog! The quality of the stay can be summed up as quaint, cozy, comfortable, and convenient. We will return for the peace that starry nights bring and the excitement that is summer on the Cape.

This was even better than expected. Very nice guest house fully equipped. 15 min walk from the great Nauset Beach. Close to restaurants, food markets, you name it. Chris and Cay are very nice and helpful. We will return for sure!

Great for Honeymooners!

December 22, 2010

We stayed at Pooh's Corner for our honeymoon and had a wonderful time! The place was very clean and well stocked with amenities and beach stuff for us to use. We were very comfortable and kept cool with all the fans and windows which made for a nice cross breeze. It's location to Naucet was great but we preferred the bay so we drove 5 mins everyday there. We loved the owners, Chris and Cay! They were so sweet and accommodating! The patios were nice and we were 3 mins to down town. Loved it and can't wait to go back!

Excellent rental

This is a great little property. It's very spacious and well-lit, with many windows and new furnishings. It even overlooks a little pond. It's a perfect fit for two people who want a clean, quiet place on the cape.

A lovely stay- great location

August 26, 2008

The guest house was immaculate, and very nicely decorated and furnished with a cute nautical/beach theme. It included beach towels, comfortable beach chairs and queen size sheets (since we didn't have any they were nice enough to include this). The owners are lovely and helpful with recommendations on local attractions. Wifi included was a plus for us and decent cell reception. 1 mile from the beach (not so walkable if you want to bring a bunch of things to the beach, otherwise, it is). Weekly beach parking pass costs $50. Firm queen size bed. Nice coffee maker. Would have enjoyed having a DVD player (just VHS in the house). Books and mags on Cape Cod for your use in the home. Good water pressure in large shower stall. Lovely view of yard with pond, and cute hammock to chill out on. Quiet. It's a good location for exploring the Cape, kind of central. Highly recommend this guest house. The two of us stayed but could sleep 3 easily with the pull out couch (or even 4)
