About the area

Where to begin to describe Cape Cod. Our immediate neighborhood is very "beachy' feeling. Sand roads, windswept trees. It is largely a summer community, however many people do live year round. The Bay beach is so close you may never want to leave our neighborhood. The ocean beaches are within 10 minutes. The rest of the Cape has so much to do: whale watching, beach combing, art galleries, shopping, sand dunes, too long a list to create here. A bike trail, The Cape Cod Rail Trail, can be accessed a short distance from the house. It is a paved bikeway that runs 28 miles from South Dennis to Wellfleet. Also a short distance is the Audubon with walking trails and a great visitor center. Fabulous restaurants abound with obviously a tremendous selection of seafood. The town of Orleans, which you will pass through just before you get to Eastham, has all the shopping you could want, including a large supermarket.

“Spring Biking”

This is a great location! A short walk to the bay where you must go with your camera, blanket/chair to watch the sunsets. This year we took a short ride to the ocean to view the seals - neat. The Cape Cod Bike trail is a 20+ mile journey for the average-skilled biker. A beginner can do the trail in shorter trips. The owner has everything you need to be comfortable - books, games, hammocks and lounges for relaxing outdoors. I particularly enjoy morning coffee on the screened-in porch. A great gathering place for friends and family!

“Unique and Wonderful Property”

We just returned from a week on Cape Cod. We rented an extremely unique and wonderful home in Eastham. This home is very comfortable and well equipped. As the owner is an artist, there are lots of neat things to discover within the cottage and its grounds. Its close proximity to Campground Beach and the view of the ocean from the Crows Nest are a "big plus". The open floor plan on the main level is also very nice. I highly recommend this property for medium to large families who are looking for privacy but also want space for larger family gatherings such as reunions. The dirt road that the home is located on could be a challenge for a small car but the "features" of this rental vastly overshadow this singular drawback.

“Wonderful home”

Such a wonderful home! We really enjoyed our week in this beautiful, comfortable and spacious home. It had absolutely everything a family needs for a perfect vocation. 10 min walk to the beach , very private and so spacious that honestly for a family of four we felt living in a mansion! Beautiful artwork throughout the house, fully equipped and the rooftop deck with gorgeous views of trees and the ocean. Big thank you to the owners!

“Family Reunion”

The house was very spacious and set up well for a larger gathering and has many outdoor areas to enjoy. The beds were very comfortable and the setting was extrememely private which we loved. We'd definitely consider renting again.

“Great stay”

We enjoyed this funky house that is only steps from the bay beach on a sandy lane. The house was very comfortable. The space and the grounds were terrific. The beach is 51 steps down over the dunes. It was the only drawback but a short walk gets you to Campground Beach without steps.

We absolutely loved the house- so much so, that for about a week afterwards our 2 year old daughter would start fussing and saying no I want the other house! whenever we pulled into our driveway at home. Rory B
