Description of the Eastham vacation home rental
Welcome to our Cape Cod Retreat! Tucked away on a peaceful, quiet cul de sac in the natural environs of the National Seashore in historic North Eastham, Massachusetts, our bright and clean home offers four bedrooms, two bathrooms and an outdoor shower. Our newly renovated common living-dining room is spacious with a long farmers table that can seat up to 12 people comfortably and a comfy sectional sofa that provides a place for the family to sit together to play a board game or to watch a movie. Our large, sunlight-flooded kitchen has been recently updated with under-mounted sink and granite countertops. If you are a foodie you'll love cooking a meal in this space. With it's comfy arm chairs and early morning sun pouring in, this where we love to sit with a cup of coffee and read of the morning paper. The deck off the kitchen is shaded by oaks and sea pines. It's a wonderful place to cook (on a Webber Gas Grill) and eat, or share a libation on a warm summer day. On cool evenings, we find ourselves drawn to our farmer's porch that stretches across the front of our house. We've discovered recently that night-time mosquitoes are infrequent visitors of homes on the Oceanside of the Cape, unlike the more marshy inlets of the Bayside. We have a large yard with swing set and plenty of room for off-street parking (room for a boat).

Area Information
Our home in North Eastham is part of what is known as the "Lower Cape". This part of Cape features The pristine National Seashore with its beautiful dunes and the impressive waves of the Atlantic. Our home is 1.5 miles away from the spectacular Nauset Light Beach. When you're in the mood to swim in calmer waters, we're just a 5 minute drive to the bay beaches with its abundant seashells. After a long day in the sun and salt water, you can drop by a nearby spring-fed kettle pond for a swim. The pond is a great setting for little ones to play safely and the water's edge.

The North Eastham area and, in particular, our home near the end of a cul-de-sac, has a very rural, quiet feel to it. When you're biking or driving down our street with all the beach roads around you, it feels as though you are far away from civilization. Yet, when you'd like to venture out and find some civilization for fun or practical reasons, you can be on Route 6 in a minute and can head a few minutes in either direction for a any number of great restaurants, shopping, or a wide variety of activities.

From our local, you can check out the great restaurants and night life in Wellfleet and Provincetown. If you've got little ones, you'll find an abundance of great mini-golf and soft serve ice cream joints, the wonderful children's theatre in Brewster and exploring the beautiful, peaceful trails on the Wellfleet Audubon.

Stayed with two families, 4 children total, and we all had a great time. This is a beautiful and spacious house & very well provisioned. We particularly enjoyed the selection of bikes, athletic equipment, and flotation devices in the shed. It was very easy to bike to the Cape Cod Rail Trail and the Nauset Lighthouse Beach. The owner is easy to communicate with and provided detailed instructions about accessing the house and amenities.

Wonderful Vacation Home

August 5, 2014

We had a wonderful week in this vacation home. It provided everything we needed for a beach vacation including the beach chairs, umbrellas, bikes, etc. Next time we'll bring only our linens and clothes! And I loved the Friday to Friday rental, making our trip that much easier with no Saturday morning traffic jams! The rooms were all comfortable and we especially enjoyed the kitchen which was a great place for the family to get together. Nauset Light beach was only a mile away and the grandkids (3 1/2 years old), especially enjoyed the bayside First Encounter beach. It was a memorable time for all of us and we'll certainly be back!
