“Independence Studio”

Reviewed 5 Feb 2016

We really enjoyed our two night stay. It was very clean, quiet and comfortable. Great place to stay if you are sking for the day and nice to have a hot tub to relax in after! Very close to both restorts and the downtown Ellicottville.

“Cozy and close to town”

Reviewed 3 Jan 2016

Our small family loved this little apartment, it was perfect for our needs. Just a short walk to town, and drive-able to ski areas. The owners were very easy to work with and are quick to respond to any questions. We really enjoyed the hot tub after a day of skiing! It's very private and we were happy that you cannot hear noise from the adjoining larger house. Hope to stay here again in the future, thanks!

“Perfect Weekend Getaway”

Reviewed 17 Mar 2015

I found the "Independence Studio" online while looking for a property in Holiday Valley. The online booking was easy and convenient. This property exceeded my expectations for the price. The location was just what I was looking for, with walking distance to the shops and pubs in town. A quick 3 minute drive to the ski hills in the morning was another great feature. Returned home after a great day of skiing and had a large hot tub waiting for me to relax in while enjoying a beverage. I would recommend this property for a couple looking to getaway and enjoy the weekend entertainment that Ellicottville has to offer year round. I definately will be looking to return soon!!!

“Convenient and cozy.”

My wife and I enjoyed our first trip to Ellicottville, as a "get-away" and a little change of pace. This studio apartment was pleasant, cozy and convenient to downtown shops and restaurants--we were able to walk most places we wanted to go.

“Pleasantly Surprised”

Stayed at this location for the weekend in January on my 2 year anniversary. Loved it! It is perfectly placed near the main strip of EVL, walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. The studio apartment was very comfortable and quaint! Perfect for a couple for a weekend.

“Great accommodations!”

Reviewed 25 Sep 2014

My husband and I stayed at the Independence studio for the first weekend of September this year. The online booking was easy and seamless. We found our unit to be very clean and well stocked upon our arrival. It was great having a little kitchenette, with a full size refridgerator, toaster oven and microwave. The cuboards are also stocked with dishes and cutlery for convenience. We loved the feel of the room, the history of the home was nicely represented but with all the modern ammenties available. Having wifi was such a bonus for us! TV worked great and the beds were comfortable. Would definitely recommend!

“little room above the hot tube\”

Reviewed 10 Aug 2014

We rented the small room above the hot tub of the Purple House. The room was lovely, very ecclectic with many different artifacts through out. It was comfortable but a bit stuffy. I would suggest gettin g a fan as the air conditioning did not work well and really it was not needed but hte circulation was poor. It was difficult to have the windows open as people could see right in. This was the only shortcoming of the house. The house is a perfect place to stay. We walked into town for dinner and breakfast and we were at Holiday Valley within minutes. We were able to make a dinner in the little kitchenette and we sat on the big porch and enjoyed it. The unit was equipped with everything that you needed for the weekend. Coffee pot, wine glasses, wine openers, movies, hot tub (although it could have been hotter) it was very nice. Lovely home, I will return.

Owner's reply: Hi Christine; Thanks for the feedback. I will make sure to put a small fan in that room for the days when you don't turn on the A/C unit. Glad you enjoyed the town and I agree, the location of the home is very close to all the activities and restaurants. Dave
