About the area

Located in a gated resort in the town of Ellijay, it's just 90 minutes from both Atlanta, Georgia and Chattanooga, Tennessee. The house faces a 100 yard wide section of the Coosawatee river, full of rapids and wildlife, that runs through a beautiful valley. The town of Ellijay has a newer area that has several good restaurants, a movie theater and shopping, then there is the original town square that is surrounded by Mom and Pop restaurants and shops. For golfers, there is Whitepath G.C., a beautiful mountain course with a driving range. For wine lovers, there are 5 wineries to enjoy wine tastings in Gilmer county and purchase local wines.

“Loved it !”

Reviewed 25 Aug 2017

My family and i have been going up to Ellijay every year for the past 5 years. Each time we have stay somewhere different. After staying here we wouldn't stay anywhere else. The house is great, plenty of room for our family and our kids brought friends. The river is literally at your front door. The house is at the end of a road, so you don't have to worry about traffic in front of the house. Jessica was awesome to deal with. I would recommend the house to anyone. Thanks again for everything. See you next year.

“Wonderful Cabin for Family Retreat”

Reviewed 23 Nov 2015

Can not say enough good things about this cabin. It was a perfect place to get away as a family to relax and enjoy time together. Even though it rained our family enjoyed watching the river rise throughout the week. We enjoyed watching the geese fly in just about every day on the river. The walking/hiking path was greatly enjoyed. The porch and swings were a great. The cabin itself was beautiful and spacious. I would highly recommend River Rock Cabin.

“Great stay”

Reviewed 17 Oct 2015

We stayed here for 4 days and the cabin was absolutely beautiful. The beds and the pillows were very comfortable. Everything was very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed. There were no bugs as some other cabin reviews complain of bugs or scorpions. We felt at home here and loved waking up to the sound of the river and taking the trail walk behind the home. The location is perfect and totally private. If you want to relax, unwind, and have a nice time, this is a great place to stay. I very highly recommend this cabin and will go back without any doubts. Thank you Mr and Mrs Deloach for sharing your beautiful home with us.

“Beautiful Relaxing Retreat”

Reviewed 25 Aug 2015

Loved the cabin and location right on the river. Close to Ellijay and Blue Ridge. Cabin is very spacious and comfortable. The porch was a great feature to relax and enjoy the scenic flowing river. There is allot to see and do in the area or just enjoy being at the cabin. Great escape from the city.

“Amazing!”

Reviewed 7 Jun 2015

This place is absolutely amazing! Definitely way more than a cabin. Exceeded our expectations by far! Will be back very soon and going to tell all our friends! Came out for rest and relaxation with my friend from work. Fished, laughed, grilled out, rented a boat, drinks at the fire pit, hot tub, pool table all next a huge 50 ft. Creek. More that we could have imagined! Just 2 girls in the woods but felt safe. Brad the owner checked on us and there were cabins near by but still secluded because of the beautiful foliage and trees on the creek and around the property. I recommend this to everyone. Simply Amazing!

“Pictures do not do justice”

This is a one of a kind setting for a cabin that exceeded our expectations. The views from various rooms , porches and swings are tranquil and changing every second. The cabin is equipped with every convenience you would want and more. Sitting in the hot tub with that incredible view is pure joy. The shops and downtown are close by, but we preferred to spend most of our time enjoying the cabin and river. Fishing is right at your front door, and the geese make for lots of entertainment. We highly recommend this cabin to anyone that enjoys nature and needs some relaxation with all modern amenities away from it all.

“Wonderful mini-vaca!”

Beautiful property, super clean, loved the swings, the sound of the river, and hiking around! FANTASTIC!!!

“Perfect for Our Family!”

Reviewed 11 Aug 2014

We just returned from our visit to River Rock & can't wait to go back. The setting is so peaceful; the cabin is top notch. We saw a LOT of deer, a black bear, a river otter, wild turkeys & an eagle. Our 5 grandkids, aged 2-11, really enjoyed climbing on the huge boulders, fishing & floating down the rapids in the river. There were easy trails right behind the cabin that followed a little stream thru the woods. We loved swinging on the covered decks, while listening to the river. Every evening deer would be out in the middle of the river, eating the vegetation. That sounds weird, but there was an island with grasses growing on it. The cabin was tastefully decorated & equipped with everything we needed. The beds were comfortable! The kids hung out in the gameroom. There was even a private office/studio for my son-in-law to work a few hours each day. Altho the cabin is secluded in this gated community, it was very convenient to restaurants, grocery stores & Walmart. It was such a pleasant surprise to find a really nice cabin that accepted dogs. Our golden retrievers had a ball & didn't want to come home. We highly recommend River Rock.

“Great time!”

Reviewed 27 Jun 2014

Our family of 5 has not had a true vacation for at least 10 years. This was our vacation/celebrate husband finish his doctorate degree finally! We had a great relaxing time! Had fun walking up the river and floating down. The boys didn't catch a lot of fish (a few small bass) but that didn't take away from the fun ;). They all enjoyed playing pool as well as using the hot tub a couple of times. We took our car for the trip to save gas but it's a 4 cylinder; therefore, didn't handle the one steep hill with very much grace but she made it. The hardest time was when we left and the trunk was loaded. You won't regret renting here. Very peaceful. Thank you!

“Awesome place!”

Our family had such a great time at this beautiful place. The river was great and the cabin was very comfortable. Everything you need is in the house just bring your groceries and enjoy the view. Brad was very gracious, he even called to make sure everything was ok. I can't wait to go back. Such wonderful family memories!
