Here you will find Old Estes charm, updated with today's amenities in one of the nicest lodging rentals in the quaint mountain town of Estes Park. While the cabin offers all the amenities of a modern comfortable home (including free wifi), there has been a concerted effort in its restoration to retain the look and feel of this wonderful old property.
Nestled among aspen and ponderosa pine trees, some of which are hundreds of years old, this is an heirloom historic 1928 property.
The 1 1/2 acres with mountain views and rock outcroppings contribute to the sense of solitude. This home is filled with tasteful and comfortable furnishings, and the town of Estes Park is only a 1/2 mile walk away.
Here is the perfect place to come and escape the summer heat (daytime temperatures are generally in the 70's to mid 80's and evenings get into the 40's and 50's) as well as enjoy the serenity of the mountains year round, and a wonderful place for people who appreciate vintage flair and the grace of years past.
The green bedroom has a queen bed (and a 3/4 bath with claw foot tub), the yellow bedroom has a full size bed, and the 3rd bedroom, a pass through bedroom, has windows on three sides and a queen bed.
You'll love, as we do, to enjoy the all season sunroom-- the perfect place to play cards, read, sip a cup of your favorite beverage, visit with friends or family, or just relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Big Thompson River. There are plenty of windows to take in the beauty and tranquility of the mountains, including the deer and elk that often wander through (and even the occasional bear).
The entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park is just 5 minutes away, with many, many trails to hike, snowshoe or even for backcountry skiing. The Eldora downhill ski area is an hour drive away.
We provide a collection of close to 100 DVD's, games, and books, including mountain interest and local information. We also have extras to make your vacation comfortable and safe-- first aid kit, flash light, fire extinguishers, carbon monoxide detector, cooler, snowshoes upon request, etc.
Much effort has been taken to care for and furnish our mountain cabin and we want our guests to feel welcome and comfortable, and to enjoy it as much as we do. We are proud to provide a clean and smoke-free environment (smoking is allowed outside). This had been a family home for 80 years and has only been made available for rentals in the past 8 years.
This Estes Park cabin has it all--lots of character, a large wooded lot providing privacy without isolation, across the road from the river with no buildings in-between to spoil the view or muffle the sound, walking distance to downtown, a huge stone wood-burning fireplace, mountain views, high-speed wireless internet and plenty of room inside and out to spread out and relax. You couldn't ask for more in Estes Park lodging--a perfect vacation or holiday getaway. Truly stunning, this place has a sense of history and stands out from the crowd; a place you won't forget.

We had great time at Whispering Pines! It has everything you need to feel right at home with warmth and charm. Sue was a great hostess, easy to communicate with. Close to the RMNP, hiking trails, great restaurants and shops. We enjoyed all the wildlife and had an Elk migration come through the property. We can't wait to come back and would recommend this lovely, private place to all our friends and family! Thanks for the great visit!
I can't tell you how much we enjoyed Whispering Pines! It is truly a wonderful place. Thanks for a vacation we will not forget❗️
I could go on and on….we truly have never had such a wonderful vacation.

All of our grandchildren are still raving about staying at "the cabin." This was epic and very eye-opening for the kids. We all had such a wonderful time and now we all want to move here!! Thank you for sharing your lovely warm and inviting home with us.

We really enjoyed our visit and there is no better way than to top off a day of hiking, shopping or browsing than by sitting in front of a great fire in this cozy cabin. Adrianna
This beautiful "cabin" was perfect. Thank you so much for making it so comfortable. The view is wonderful and also the location near the park. Craig family 2008
Your cabin was/is a lovely haven. We had a wonderful week with good friends and enjoyed the grandeur of the Rocky Mountains. Loved the friendly deer and elk that visited almost daily. The cabin was cozy and comfortable. Thanks so much. Angela & Dick
This cabin is a true treasure. We loved hanging out in this gorgeous cabin. It's rustic but not in a kitschy way. Super cabin-truly a gem! Sept 2015
