“Beautiful View - Great Beach”

Reviewed 4 Jan 2016

This house was awesome. A little older (bathrooms need updated) but worked great for us. We actually had 8 with us and all slept comfortable - a lot of room. The kitchen is fully equipped to do all your cooking which saves a lot from eating out. The coral was an issue if you have small children. You can walk down the beach to swim. Loved having all the water toys and fishing poles. We did catch a lot of fish from the shore. The beach was not crowded at all like all the others we went to. We most definitely would rent here again.

Owner's reply: Aloha Kasey, Thank you very much. Yes, the Lehua is very peaceful and enjoyable. One sometimes forgets that the beach is public, as it is out of the limelight. We will constantly be upgrading our home. We hope to have you back soon to enjoy the home, the city and the islands. Thank you for your stay. We wish you and your all the best and may the aloha last a lifetime. Take care and welcome to the ohana. Mahalo, Rick, Danielle and Kim

“Truly Enjoyed our Stay!”

Reviewed 12 Sep 2015

We just returned from a ten-day vacation in Hawaii and enjoyed staying at Lehua. It was in the perfect location to base out of while we did day jaunts to town (Honolulu/Waikiki) or North Shore areas. It's an older house in Ewa Beach - and honestly, the neighborhood looks a wee bit sketchy - but there's a fence on the property and not once did I feel uncomfortable. I read one review of the house getting broken into so we were just cautious and took our electronics with us and locked the house when we left. There are two bedrooms with A/C and the third is really a room off the living room with two twin beds - no AC and not a private room. There were three fans so my daughter and her fiance slept in that room with all three fans going. Because of the effects from the hurricanes, the weather is HUMID. So other than the two bedrooms, the house was HOT. But that's not a reflection on the house - just residual from the weather. PROS: - Great communication with Rick on booking the house - Ocean front. Nothing else to say! Okay, so the sand has eroded and there's just rocks but the backyard is OCEAN FRONT. So nice having a cup of coffee in the morning, watching the sun rise over Honolulu and enjoying the spray. - Fully stocked kitchen. Not food-wise but plenty of dishes, cookware and the like. - Plenty of towels - both beach and regular towels. - Washer and dryer - to wash all those towels after daily excursions to the beach. - A few items like beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkels, beach umbrella (though it was broken when we opened it) - Gated yard. - BBQ grill (though we didn't use it) CONS - No real third bedroom - No A/C in the house - Sketchy neighborhood Because my ohana is from Hawaii and my father and brother (and his family) still live there, Rick approved us having a small family gathering. My brother, his wife, two sons, daughter in law, and two grandkids along with my dad got together for the most enjoyable evening ever! Though my brother and his family were roasting in the heat - apparently they live central Oahu in Wahiawa where it's cooler, lol. There is a neighborhood dog who visited us a couple of times and I suspect he is the one who left us presents on the grass in the morning, but as I was missing my two pups back home, I didn't mind picking it up. Just FYI for others who will stay at Lehua. Mahalo, Rick (and Danielle and Kim). We will be back and will hope to stay at Lehua again.

“Lehua beach house vacation A surpurb oasis”

Beautiful, clean, quiet. A little get away in my old stomping grounds. We had all that we needed and more. My friends, Ohana and grandchildren absolutely enjoyed their time with us. My husband and I enjoyed the sounds of the waves crashing on the golden beach lulling us into relaxation and to sleep. Waking up to sunrise with a view of Waikiki and Diamond, just like I used to see it growing up. The house was an old plantation house in beautiful style. The decor must have been just for me as there were turtles every where and I so love sea turtles. The water was warm and welcoming and just the right size surf for my husband to boogie board. We on two occasions saw the rare Monk Seal a total treat for us. Our nights sitting on the sea wall gazing at the stars were right out of a summer romantic movie with coconut palm tress swaying in the moonlight and gentle breeze. No place in Waikiki can compare to the amount of space, privacy, and beautiful view we had at the Lehua, we could even see the fireworks in Waikiki on Friday night, so awesome. We plan to come back to this very place in 2 years. Thank you Rick and Danielle for sharing this beautiful Oasis with my Ohana. Cyndi ann Al Seafeldt

“Home away from home”

The Lehua Beach house felt just like home. The view was gorgeous, the beach access was great. There was a separate room for the washer and dryer along with another bathroom which we really liked. It was quiet and peaceful, just the sound of the waves it was so relaxing. Beach towels, goggles, snorkels, body boards, etc. was all provided by the home owners. All in all it was a fun and memorable vacation and would recommend this home to anyone going to Hawaii.

My husband and I loved our week spent at the Lehua beach front house. The beach was beautiful, the yard was peaceful, we drank coffee every morning out there and it was amazing. We had a rental car and appreciated the location of the house. It was the perfect jumping off point for all of the sight seeing we did, and perfect to come home to every day to relax. We will definitely be back soon!

Owner's reply: Much aloha to you both.We appreciate your kind words Mahalo. The Lehua home is a wonderful experience. The location, the ambiance, and the peace and quite the shoreline offers are very special. Congratulations on your union and our best wishes. May your celebration and aloha time last a lifetime. We welcome you both to our ohana. Our guest mean the world to us. We look forward to hearing form you soon. All our best and a blessed New Year...
