Description from owner

Perfect spot for relaxation! Wake to the sound of the water lapping against the shore - just 10' from the cottage. Each bedroom has a double size bed, dresser, cabinet and hanging rod for clothes. The kitchen is fully equipped with a full size smooth top electric range/oven, refrigerator w/ ice maker, and all small appliances. All the pots & pans, dishes, flatware, glasses, etc. you need to prepare & serve meals & snacks. A gas grill (gas supplied) is on the street side deck, with 2 picnic tables.

The "front room", facing Little Sodus Bay, has a large table and 6 chairs, and a sofa & recliner. Next to the kitchen is a futon, 2 chairs, TV/VCR/DVD/CD player, AM/FM radio. No cable = no channels.

Thru sliding glass doors, you'll love the 19' X 30' deck, and 8' X 50' dock. The covered boat lift has room for your boat. Bring your canoe, jet ski, etc. We have table/ chairs/ umbrella/ lounge chairs/ swings for your comfort, and 2 kayaks & swim noodles. The water is about 8' deep at the end of the dock, and clear, so you can see the fish swimming, and warm enough for you to swim and play.

The bathroom has a shower.

About the area

Fair Haven is a small town on the South East "corner" of Lake Onterio. Little Sodus Bay is the 3rd largest bay off the lake - about 1 mile wide x 3 miles long. The street by our cottage is a dead end, so there's little traffic. Peaceful and quiet. The State Park is about a 20 minute walk away, with a sand beach and fishing pier. The library in town has computers /internet available. You can also borrow a DVD, VCR,and books. You can usually connect to wi-fi outside at the cottage. The local grocery store/gas station has the essentials. There are several good restaurants within 20 min. drive. 2 nice public laundramats are located on either end of town -5 min. drive.

“RELAXING on the WATER!”

Reviewed 16 Aug 2015

Perfect place to get away. Right on the water -- fantastic sun deck with all the amenities to relax and let your blood pressure drop! Covered boat hoist area where you can escape the summer sun if too hot and sit on a swing overlooking the water. Having kayaked up and down the water, I daresay this is the nicest one among those around them. The cottage is really clean and very well equipped. Nice picnic area out front that was nice for breakfast in the morning as the sun came up. I love the fact that it was all level -- no steep steps to get to water. Fair Haven State Park Beach was very near, and we spent time on the sandy beach there as well. Great vacation spot if you want your stress levels to drop for a week!

Owner's reply: Marian, I'm glad you enjoyed your time here. Thank you for leaving it all neat & spotless. We feel so fortunate to have this lovely escape, and are happy to share it with others. Do come back next year, or later this Fall. Best wishes, Bonnie

“Fantastic vacation spot!”

We spent 3 weeks at this cottage and it was fantastic. The cottage was well appointed for an extended stay. Everything was as advertised. The deck and dock were great and this was where we spent most of our time. We brought our boat as it was to be a fishing vacation. We were able to fish just about every day and caught a ton of fish both in Little Sodus Bay and out on Lake Ontario. Kitchen had all the equipment need to prepare any type of meal. Bedrooms and bath are a little small but not a problem as the great deck and dock more than compensated for that. We had two days that weren't conducive to outdoor activities from inside the cottage we were still able to enjoy the view. The area is quiet and relaxing. We are already planning to go back for our 2014 vacation.

Owner's reply: Jean, I'm so glad you enjoyed our little bit of Fair Haven. We'd love to have you back. I look forward to the time when we can spend more time here. time here always goes by too fast!

“So nice!”

So relaxing, very clean and quiet. Most of the neighbors are only there on week-ends and even then they're quiet. Bonnie and Paul are very nice and thoughtful. Caught a couple bass right off the dock. Grandkids caught lots of sunnies.LOL. And the deer! One night we saw 16 and one of them was in the front yard! Everynight we saw them just walking down the road

Owner's reply: I'm glad you enjoyed your time at the "Robbins' Nest". We think it is a WONDERFUL place to be, and are happy to share it.

“Sad Weekend”

Reviewed 29 May 2013

Upon arriving, we were disappointed to find out that we had to mow the lawn that was over a foot high. Wanted a get away, and I should have stayed home and mowed my own lawn, etc. The cottage is cute. Bathroom is extremely small, so if you are a larger adult, you may want to try another location. It was way to windy and cool to sit out side, but if we could have we would have enjoyed our visit once we finished our chores. lol

Owner's reply: Lorrie, I'm sorry the weather wasn't nicer for your weekend. That's beyond our control.:) You did have a great view while relaxing inside! The grass must have been growing like crazy since we last moved it 2 weeks before your arrival. The info I sent you mentioned that you might need to mow the yard, which takes no more than 10 minutes. Thank you for doing it.

“as promised”

best deck on the bay as far as i could see and while not the most swimmable of waterfronts, it was beautiful to kayak on [provided] and the view was spectacular. set up and tear down was well explained and while a tight fit, all were comfortable. not close to syracuse but the drive was beautiful, and only aboue 45 min as was the drive to the outlets of waterloo, if you are going for the shopping i'd go back :)
