Sweet House close to East Coast activities

January 7, 2013

This is a very well appointed house in a residential neighborhood in Fajardo. It is fastidiously clean and obviously well cared for. We were greeted by a bowl of fruit which was much welcomed, and with the well stocked kitchen and our bottle of rum from a Bacardi visit, we were quickly enjoying mango daiquiris. We loved the "use what you need and leave some food behind" policy - we were we were able to use a little honey for our tea without buying a jar, but left the tea and some other items behind! This is a perfect house for east coast exploring. We had come from hikes in the El Yunque rainforest - about a 20 minute drive, and spent time at Luqullo beach and the famous food kiosks - about 15 minutes away. Even closer was the Pure Biobay kayak excursion (about 10 blocks) and sailing on the Erin Go Bragh sailboat (a fantastic day out) just a few miles away. The house is surrounded by beautiful gardens, has a laundry room (much appreciated) and air conditioning in most of the rooms. It would be perfect for up to 4 adults and a few kids. There are nice. Albeit expensive restaurants in Fajardo. Beaches are a drive or a Very long walk away. There is only a limited mini market nearby - the nearest grocery store is a fairly lengthy drive away, so you have to provision accordingly. Short of that - a great place for rest or adventure - we took part in a little of both!

Owner's reply:

Dear Nancy and family. It gives me great pleasure you and your family enjoyed your stay! We take great pride in providing a very welcoming, clean, home away accommodations.

Glad you like "use what you need and leave some behind" works very well for everybody.
The nearest beach is by the Nature reserve Las Cabezas de San Juan, it is a 2 minute car ride or 7/10 minutes walk, if you walk along the beach away from the entrance it has some lovely very secluded spots ; just a few steps away is the public Beach Seven Seas.

Thank you so much for your great review! and hope in the future I can be of service again.

Fabulous vacation stay

August 27, 2012

My family and I went to Puerto Rico early this month. A friend had given me this owner's info so I looked at the Photos and loved it. It is nothing compared to what you get in person. The place was gorgeous!!!!! It was my husband and I, my two daughters and my 3 grandchildren and we had more than enough space. The area was peaceful. Just down the road were The Sevens Seas and a beautiful beach. Also located near was the Conquistador Hotel which featured a small casino. All in all it was a wonderful stay. We plan to do it again. Anyone who's looking for the comforts of home well here it is!!!! Everything you have at home we had here. The AC worked great. We were able to buy groceries and make our own breakfast and dinner when we didn't want to go out. The cable worked fine. I tell you it was like being home. I WOULD RECOMMENT THIS TO EVERYONE!!!!!!!The rates were very reasonable. Better than most hotels. It had a private driveway. It was very clean and NO MOSQUITOES!!!! There was a laundry room for our clothes. It was just better than I could ever have expected. Please if you are going on vacation consider this place to stay. You wont regret it.

"wonderful house...beautiful beaches."

We have a wonderful 3 nights in Casa Gardenia. Great beach within walking distance and a very friendly town. The property is gorgeous with everything you might need. Highly recommend!

My first trip to P.R., made superb by the Casa Gardenia!"

I traveled with a group of 6 other people, and renting this house definitely made our first time to P.R. easy and wonderful. It was easy to coordinate the use of the house with the owners, James and Reina Capron, and the caretakers who greeted us were kind, friendly, and accommodating. It's location in a quiet, pretty neighborhood in Fajardo gave us a more "local" experience then staying at a high-rise hotel. The house is clean, beautiful and pleasant. The place may look small in pictures, but it easily accommodated our group of 7 people, and with the garden and porch, we never felt crowded. The beach is also a short walk from the house, and everything else you may need (such as groceries, etc) is a short drive. If your are coming to Fajardo, PR for the first time, or you have been here and want a different experience than before, I would highly recommend this place!

"waken up by the sunshine in the morning"

I came here with three other friends, and spent four nights there. I have to say this is the most wonderful place I have ever lived. With beautiful garden, complete home appliance, very nice super, walking distance to the beach, we had a great time there. This is exactly what I expected for my vacation, a place far from city with nobody bothering, and I can enjoy the peaceful time in a beautiful environment while doing nothing. As I wrote in the tile, on each morning it is really wonderful memory to be waken up by the sunshine in the face instead of by working pressure.
