Great owner. Wonderful setting. Had various friends and family over for cookouts and swimming in private beach. Also, had bond fires for young adult family members. A great experience and location.

Owner's reply: Thank you!

We had a wonderful time. The house is perfectly located on a beautiful, calm lake with great views. We enjoyed the kayak, canoe, swimming and fishing. The house is spacious, clean and accommodating. The grounds are beautiful and the views are gorgeous. The house is perfectly located on the lake and in close proximity to the quaint Falmouth town with easy access to a ferry to Martha's Vineyard. We would definitely rent again.

Owner's reply: They said it better than I could!

“peaceful and secluded retreat”

Reviewed 23 Sep 2014

we stayed 9 nights and didn't want to leave. the property is beautiful and completely secluded. the owner john is a kind man and was so flexible and accommodating. the house is very unique and has a lot of charm. the views of the lake can't be beat. we felt so far away (a good thing) but the main town is only 2 miles away. all the stores you could ever need, including an amazing french bakery, stop & shop, walmarts, cvs, starbucks, home goods, marshalls/tj maxx, petco and hundreds more. i highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a relaxing and private getaway with tons of space inside and out. thank you john for everything, you helped make our vacation all the more special. i hope we can come back again :)

Owner's reply: Thank you so much!

We just returned from our family vacation and had a wonderful time. John's home is beautiful and spacious and the grounds are enchanting. My granddaughter and I spent time looking for fairies and creating precious memories. Thanks John for sharing your home and helping make our vacation very special.

The rustic meets modern emenities made for a great trip! The beach area was wonderful. We had a great time fishing with both the canoe and the kayak. The swimming was fabulous and it was fun making hotdogs and S'mores in the fire pit. John, thank you for sharing your home with us. It was a fabulous week.

“incredible getaway”

Reviewed 26 Aug 2009

I would definitely recommend this rental for anyone looking to get away with friends or family for a week in Cape Cod. It is located in an amazing area on Jenkins Pond, which was wonderful for swimming and boating. It is also very close to downtown with plenty of shops, markets and restaurants nearby. The house was just as spacious and comfortable as we expected. The gardens are also beautiful. We had an amazing week and cannot thank John, the owner, enough for opening his home to us.

Dear John, We loved the house! We had 29 family members for lunch and dinner on Sunday, and had a delightful rest of the week playing on the beach, romping in the back yard, and enjoying the peace and beauty of your home. We definitely would come back the next time. Thank you for all your cooperation. Our family loved it. The Texas Carvajal's jhcarvajal

Hi John,

Thank you so much for letting us into your home on Saturday. Chris and I loved it! Actually, we loved it so much that we would like to book it for longer than originally planned. You were right, the pictures don't do the justice of seeing it in person. It's simply beautiful. We can't thank you enough for letting us share our special day there.

Thank you for taking the time out of your day to show us around.

What a great retreat for a family vacation! The property is unique on a very clean fresh water pond and easy access to ocean beaches. Falmouth is less crowded than other parts of the Cape. Plenty of things to do and great restaurants. John Salerno is a most gracious and accommodating host that helped make the vacation a special memory!

We spent our week here preparing for our wedding at the Owl's Nest! It couldn't have been a more perfect week. The yard was magnificent, the view of the pond was beautiful, and it kept me at peace staying at the house while I prepared the wedding. Getting up in the morning before the other 8 house guests to enjoy my coffee in the sun room was the best part of my mornings. The location is perfect to downtown and the beach. John was an absolute pleasure to work with and made sure he accommodated all of our needs. We enjoyed the Falmouth Raw Bar and the Boathouse with our guests from out of town, and having the ferry to Martha's Vineyard so close made our day trip so easy! We enjoyed our evenings downstairs by the pond around a fire reliving the days' events. My wedding guests were stunned by the beauty of the property, and we made lasting memories. Great place for my husband and I to start our married life together!
