“Great visit”

Reviewed 28 Jun 2015

It was nice to meet Julia & to stay at her house. I had a great vacation bringing my mother & children to visit my sister who lives in the area. This is a great location - so much to see and do within fairly short drives from the house - whale watch cruises, beaches, historic sites, nature parks, shopping centers. It is a quiet neighborhood & the lake is beautiful. My kids & I really enjoyed the peaceful time we spent relaxing on the lake.

Owner's reply: It was a pleasure to meet this family with 3 well educated children. They used the week to explore the Cape cod and visit many interesting places around. I am very grateful for taking good care of the house and would be happy to accommodate them again or/and invite them just for a visit to swim, to fish, to kayak and have a cup of coffee/tea with us.

“Nice peaceful getaway”

Reviewed 16 Sep 2014

My family of four plus our dog had a great long weekend at this lovely house in a quiet neighborhood. There is a beautiful large pond right off of the yard that is good for swimming fishing and a short paddle. The water is amazingly clear. My daughter and I caught a large mouth bass and a perch on the one morning we fished. The house is neat and clean and was caringly prepared for my two children. The kitchen was perfect for preparing meals. The spice rack was great to have for any odds and ends that we neglected to bring along. There are two dining tables in case your family or friends don't all fit at one. Both are in front of sliding glass doors. The larger of the two is nearly wall to wall of window and is great for bird watching in the morning. Downy woodpeckers, chickadees, nuthatches, cardinals and more. Even saw an Osprey up close down by the pond. There is a good sized deck in the back with chairs and a table that looks down across the yard and through the trees to the pond. In the back yard we enjoyed the charcoal grill and campfire at night in a great setting. The location is a peaceful neighborhood on an out of the way street with very little traffic. Plenty of parking in the driveways and garage. Walking and biking trails are nearby. Several beaches are a short drive away. Plenty of shops, restaurants and your choice of grocery stores are 10 minutes drive. My family had a great time, was very comfortable and we would stay again.

“Very beautiful serene get away”

We stayed at Julia and Bobs place for a week in late June/early July. Julia and Bob were very nice, and warm, and welcoming. They greeted us upon arrival, and answered all questions we had. They also printed out many recommendations of nearby restaurants, beaches and things to do, which was very helpful. The place was very clean, new floors, and well maintained. The pond was very fresh and clean. We had a 2 year old who loved being in the water everyday. Breakfast, dinner and lunch was very nice eating outside on the deck overlooking the water. The beaches close by and downtown Falmouth was wonderful! Would definitely stay again!!!!

Owner's reply: It was a pleasure to meet and accommodate Maria's family. We are grateful to Maria and Steven for taking good care of the house during their stay. When we were leaving the house upon their arrival the charming little boy waved us good buy. This picture is in my memory.

“Enjoyable week on the Cape.”

Reviewed 13 May 2014

Spent the week here with my wife, brother and his wife, and their medium size dog. Weather was cool and sometimes wet but managed to get in three enjoyable rounds of golf with my brother at enjoyable nearby courses. The house was very nice, clean, and had all the amenities. The location on the pond with a view from the back deck was beautiful. Although we did not use the pond it should be great for swimming, fishing, non motorized boating. Enjoyed the many beautiful birds in the area which came very close to feed on suet we hung near the deck. Visited all over the Cape including Ptwon, National Sea Shore, Woods hole, Wineries. Ate dinner out every night at different local restaurants. Visited a local shopping complex in the near by town for shopping, a movie, and dining. Owner met us at the start of the rental and kept in contact through the week to ensure an enjoyable stay. Would stay her again if wanted to vacation in the area again.

“Cozy home and great location!”

Reviewed 23 Mar 2014

The house was very clean and cozy. There's a TV to watch movies on. Nearby town is very charming and has everything from a 99 to a stop n' shop. The neighborhood is quiet and relaxing. The little pond is right next to the house and is a very romantic place to be at night. Great stargazing =). In short, a perfect little getaway location with all of the amenities. Some very nice areas around for driving and taking long walks. Highly recommended! If I enjoyed it in march, I can only imagine how awesome it must be in the summer...

Owner's reply: Hi Eli, Your review is a great and nice surprise! Thank you very much. We are so glad that you and your fiancee Francesca had good time together in our place. I also love to watch stars and planets. No tall buildings around and numerous stars are so bright in dark sky. In March only snowdrops started to blossom. You should come later for a visit to see our rhododendrons, tulips, daffodils, lilies etc. flowering, to swim and fish in our lake. We would love to have you as our guests. Julia.

“Relaxing and Convenient”

Reviewed 23 Dec 2013

The house was easy to find and only 20 minutes from the Bourne bridge. Daily, I sat in the breezeway room and meditated looking over the pond -- that was frequented by ducks and seagulls. All the amenities we needed were available (and a few more). Town was only a mile away, which included many shops. We were able to find an indoor pool (remember we were there in November, otherwise you can swim either in the pond or the ocean.) and exercise facility, which we could pay for weekly. Julia was wonderful in sending us a list of other activities and local restaurants.

“Fabulous, Warm, Cozy and our Home Away From Home”

Reviewed 31 Jan 2013

It was perfect for a recent trip to visit the Cape. Perfectly hidden location so close to shopping areas but feels tucked away. Can't say enough price was great, the owners are charming and hospitable, easy to access and we were smitten with their friendliness. The deck overlooking the water is really as alluring as the photos show. Can't wait to make it our little home again.

Owner's reply: Dear April, It was a pleasure to help you to arrange your family reunion and meet your relatives. Your little nephew is charming. Now we are finishing 3 major projects in our house: switching to natural gas, attic insulation and the installation of central air conditioning. I hope everything will be done by the next week. After that I would like to call your sister and her husband to get together to discuss our common professional interest. Thank you very much for your kind review. Julia.

“Woods Family”

Reviewed 6 Sep 2012

We stayed at this house for 2 weeks in July. The property is in a great location, very close to Falmouth beaches and the downtown area, as well as Mashpee for restaurants and shopping. We brought our motor boat and enjoyed water sports on the nearby ponds in Mashpee and were also able to access the ocean and went to the Vineyard. The pond itself is great for swimming, kayaking and windsurfing. We were attracted to this property because we were able to bring our dog, who loves to swim. The house and surrounding property is very comfortable with a lot of space (we set up a volleyball net in the backyard). Overall, it has a lot to offer for a great vacation.

“Our favorite Cape Cod vacation house”

Reviewed 28 Aug 2012

We rented several other vacation properties before - this is by far the best Cape Cod vacations we ever had. The owners are very warm and welcoming, they greet you on arrival with a home made cake. The house is very clean and well maintained, plenty of space and a kitchen is equipped with all imaginable appliances. Best of all - you are directly on a fresh water lake shore (beautiful view, so great to swim before and after your trips to ocean beaches and a real paradise for fishing). Very private and relaxing. We would love to go back again any time!

“Zen at Fresh Pond”

Reviewed 21 Aug 2012

We spent two very relaxing weeks at Julie and Bob's home on Fresh Pond. The area is peaceful and serene - perfect for yoga on the deck or by the pond. The pond is crystal clear, warm, and perfect for swimming, rowing and casting for elusive fish. We ate most meals at the house as it comes quite equipped and food shopping is nearby, including Green Pond Fish Market and a little further away, Falmouth Fish Market. We also ate most meals on the large deck overlooking the pond (no mosquitoes!!) and loved our sunset meals. Falmouth salt water beaches with close views of Martha's Vineyard are only 4 miles away. We also rode bikes on the beautiful Shining Seas bike trail parts of which ran along the ocean. Bob and Julie are wonderful hosts who had a "tea party" set up for us when we arrived. New to the house was a portable air conditioner which provided relief for the few muggy days that we had. Usually the offshore breezes provided much comfort. The box of Cape Cod brochures was very helpful in finding restaurants and various Cape Cod activities. We had a terrific time and hope to be back soon!
