Description of the Fernandina Beach vacation townhouse rental
Our spacious poolside townhome is located in Summer Beach Resort and offers a great island location as well as amenities including pools, tennis, golf, bike trails and of course, the beach. Summer Beach Village is a gated community with twenty-four hour roaming security. The ocean is just steps away across the environmentally protected dunes. Watch for turtles in the dunes as you cross!

The unique two-level floor plan offers an ideal layout with 2 bedrooms and 2 1/2 half baths. The bedrooms, located on the second level, each have a private bath. The queen-size sleeper sofa and the half bath are located on the main level with the kitchen, dining and living area. For the 2010 season, our home has all new carpet and fresh paint in the kitchen and bedrooms. We have also added new cookware, flatware, and dishes in the kitchen.

For the 2011 season we have added; new kitchen appliances, new paint throughout, three new HD TV's, new window coverings, and new patio furniture.

Additional features include unlimited local and long distance calling, HD cable, and Wi-Fi Internet access throughout the home. We offer bed and bath linens, starters on paper and soap, several beach chairs, an umbrella, beach toys, games, puzzles and more.

Steps away from the door you will find swimming pools, tennis courts and the beach. The community offers two lighted tennis courts next to the Beach Club. The tennis courts are available by contacting owners for a reservation.

During your stay on Amelia Island, you may choose to do nothing but relax or opt for a little bit of everything the Island has to offer, such as visiting Historic Centre Street in Fernandina Beach along the waterfront. Boasting specialty shops, restaurants, carriage rides, historic and ghost walking tours, and a homemade fudge and ice cream parlor, spending the day in the historic district makes for a fun-filled afternoon or evening. If fishing is your thing, you may cast off the surf in front of Summer Beach or schedule a trip with one of our local captains at the waterfront.

Area Information
Located just off the coast of Florida, Amelia Island is easy to reach, but hard to forget. With 13-miles of beautiful beaches, abundant native wildlife, and pristine waters, this barrier island has long been a favorite destination for visitors and residents alike. Amelia was voted #4 among Top 10 North American Islands by Conde Nast Traveler's 2009 Reader's Choice Awards, making it the highest ranked island destination in Florida for three years in a row.

Known as the "Isle of Eight Flags," Amelia Island has had an amazing, interesting and tumultuous past, through the lives of indians, pirates, shrimpers, nobles and confederates. History enthusiasts will want to visit historic downtown Fernandina Beach with a 50-block area of homes and buildings on the National Register of Historic Places; Ft. Clinch State Park for a tour with period reenactors depicting garrison life at the fort; and Old Town, the last Spanish Town in the Western Hemisphere and the former Spanish Fort San Carlos.

For fun and relaxation, the beautiful sandy beaches provide swimming, kayaking, fishing, horseback riding, biking, and miles of beachcombing. Bikers and walkers can also enjoy Egan's Creek Greenway or Ft. Clinch, which offers self-guided nature trails that provide opportunities to learn about and observe native plants and wildlife.

The downtown historic district is home to some of the best shopping and dining on the island and a great place to stroll any time of day. Each Saturday morning offers a farmer's market at 7th and Centre Street. Sounds on Centre is a free concert hosted the first Friday of each month (March-Oct) on Centre Street between 2nd and Front Streets. Second Saturday Artrageous Artwalk is hosted by talented artists and galleries in the historic district.

Fernandina Beach and Amelia Island offer a little something for every member of the family.
