Bachman's Tree House Hideway/FIGURE 8 IS.
|Per week||$4,300 - $5,300|
Figure 8 Island is a beautiful coastal community, but visitors from Washington DC, Philadelphia, and New York are excited to find out that it can be reached in the same amount of travel time as the popular Outer Banks region and Figure 8 doesn't have the inseason crowds. The climate is considerably warmer in the spring, fall, and winter, providing a better environment for year-round golf, tennis, and other popular outdoor activities with fewer crowds!
The Tree House is located on a high sound front bluff just across from the beach path to the ocean. This home has 360 degree views of the white sandy beaches, ocean, sound and beyond. There is a boat dock on the sound which is great for kayaking, canoeing, crabbing, and fishing. The home is surrounded by the natural vegetation of the island which makes it fabulous for bird watching. The beaches are great for surfing and surf fishing; visitors will appreciate the shear bliss of quiet crowdless beaches. The beach house is cozy yet roomy with many updates. One of the best views on the Island, the home is very comfortable and casual. Nestled among live oaks and natural vegetation this home promotes exceptional birdwatching year round, yet still a delightful beach vacation. After a relaxing day on the beach you will enjoy perfect sunsets at the end of the day. All water toys are available for rent.

Reviews for this vacation home rental in Figure Eight Island, North Carolina
great time,great place
October 1, 2015
We rented Tree Tops while attending a wedding on Figure Eight Island. The house was spacious and offered a fantastic 360 degree view. The kitchen/great room accommodated us renters as well as guests. The deck was full with lounge chairs which we surely used. The beautiful beach was a very short walk and was almost a private beach. We loved everything about Tree Tops. Ms. Bachman made arranging the visit a pleasure and accommodated several requests. Thank you Ms. Bachman for sharing your beach home.
Spectacular Views...Stairs....and updating
September 9, 2015
This is a spectacular home with 360 views of ocean and bay. It was comfortable with regard to bedding/beds. We really could not use the deck because of the number of spider webs with large spiders....yes we could have removed them, but not our idea of vacation. The home has not been updated since it was built (70's) which meant the fan in the family room on top floor was uneven and creaked so we couldn't use.... The air conditioning in the MBR was inadequate (we had to use overhead and standalone fan)... We had to catch a lizard that came in front door which did not seal... We had 4 Palmetto bugs that had to be removed as the doors don't seal.... We felt that this was once a spectacular home and just needs a little paint, and appliance updating. We felt that spending (including taxes and fees) almost $1,000/night was excessive for what we got in this home although it was the only pet friendly home we could find on this delightful island. We felt it was not reasonable. The owner is delightful.
I gave them an earlycheck-in on Wed.( 9/02/15) I never received any complaint about spiders/Palmetto bugs or the A/C. If I did I would sent the Pest Control & A/C. Home is under a yearly contract,they would have taken care of it by Thurs. morning. The home has extentive up dated since 70s. 2 new Air Conditioning units installed June 2015,Dish washer new in 1/2015, ceiling fan now replaced, Kitchen was remolded 1998, SubZero Refrg/frezzor; 6 gas burner cook top.Elevator 1998, front door closes

Bachman's Tree House is a wonderful property. Located on Figure 8 Island, the Tree House is tucked in between the intercoastal and the Atlantic Ocean. The beach (which is 100 yards away) is private, making it nice and quiet. The house has plenty of space for large families (we had 9 adults and 2 children- it never felt cramped) There is a considerable amount of stairs in this property, so the elevator comes in handy for loading/unloading. This property is close in proximity to grocery stores, restaurants and golf courses.....but honestly you will find yourself not wanting to leave the island. The amenities are nice: fully stocked kitchen, clean/comfortable beds, newer appliances, wet bar, etc......We plan on visiting again

I enjoyed the island and the experience on Figure Eight Island. I was disappointed in the condition of the Bachman Tree House. The interior was in bad need of a paint job and the front door lock was dangerous for safety reasons. Most of the bathrooms and bedrooms had water damage on the ceilings and many bugs inside that were alive and well. The front door lock had been damaged at one time and never repaired, most of the interior modeling was broken away as if the door had been forced open. The dishwasher soap door was broken and a few other items. For the price of the rental, I was suprised at the condition of the property. The beach was beautiful and clean. The island itself was safe and secure. I will not rent this home in the future.
N.Kaptur was a very old review & everything has been up dated, painted & all new appliances. All linens have been relaxed. I change out all the pillows every season.
Carrie Maglich never called me to let me know that she was having any problems. If she had the A/c, the Exterminator for the bugs all would have been resolved within 12 hours. I gave them an early check in & a late check out. Carrie could have a=called me & I would have sent people over to correct the problems. Bunnie Bachman
