“Beyond our Dreams”

Reviewed 12 Dec 2015

We were dreaming of a get away over Thanksgiving to recharge and refresh from a very busy season. We wanted something remote but with the comforts of home. Our three adult children and their two friends joined us from Indiana and California. The seven of us found plenty of space to lounge and spread out for a retreat. The two boys were upstairs in the beautiful loft with comfortable beds, couches, study tables and a deck to view the lake. The three girls were downstairs with many beds to choose for their late night talks. It was perfect for them to have their own private bathroom and shower on that level as well as a game room with pool-table to entertain. My husband and I stayed on the main floor in a wonderful room off the main living area and adjacent to the bathroom. I cooked our scrumptious Thanksgiving feast in the fully equipped kitchen. The appliances were updated and worked well. It was wonderful to smell the turkey and pies while we gathered in the main room on the overstuffed couches and watched the football game. Afterward, we hiked around the property, sat on the swing on the wrap around porch, and walked down to the beach to view the autumn colors. By nightfall, we were ready for S'mores and a campfire - a great way to end a day of Thanksgiving. Everything was perfect, and beyond our dreams for comfort and relaxation. After four days we left with memories for a lifetime!

“Awesome place for friends to gather”

We just got back and I can't say enough good things about this place. There were plenty of sleeping quarters. Except for food it had everything we needed. The owners were very friendly and helpful. It's a great place. I would go again.

“Perfect Family Gathering Place”

Reviewed 3 Jan 2013

Firefly was our family gathering place between the holidays. Sons from Indiana and Illinois and their families made the trip and we are in love with Firefly Lodge! Each family had their own "floor" with Grandma and Grandpa on the main level. The cabin is spectacular, warm and inviting. Everything was perfect and we hope to come back in the summer to enjoy the outdoor firepit and the lake. Thank you!!!

“Beautiful Log Cabin”

We had a wonderful stay in Sullivan, IL at the FireFly Lodge. Our family reunion was held there. It has a very open lay out with plenty of room. We loved the fire pit in the back yard and used it every night. The fall colors only enhanced our visit there. The owners are very nice and accomodating. We'll book our trip there again.

“Family Friendly Firefly Lodge”

Reviewed 30 May 2012

From the get-go the process of reserving was painless; thanks Kathy. Very welcoming home and very kid friendly. Our grandkids loved their vacation and that made it enjoyable for the parents and grandparents. The Lodge is stunning with its log cabin and woodsy decor. Great location with the lake and the nearby small towns.

“Great weekend retreat!”

The lodge is located on a beautiful property and had everything we needed. Very nicely furnished facility with everything our large group needed. Kathy and Ken were wonderful to work with, ensuring we were taken care of. Their service was top notch! Ken personally drove to the lodge to ask how things were going and make sure it met our needs - we couldn't have been happier with our stay. Highly recommended for family or friend vacations, and was a great value for our group.

“worked perfectly”

I rented the home for spring break to accomodate my elderly parents, 2 children and 3 other adults. The space worked great. We made all our meals in the home and used it as a base to begin and end our day trips. Although we didn't spend much time just hanging out in the house due to our day trips to Springfield and St. Louis, I can see how this home would be perfect for just relaxing.

“Great time!”

I could not have imagined a better place to stay. The cabin itself is amazing. There is no doubt in my mind that I will look to FireFly Lodge again!

“Fantastic FireFly Lodge!”

Reviewed 13 Jun 2011

Each year my husband and I plan an annual vacation with our 3 grown children, their spouses, and our grandchildren. We chose the area of Lake Shelbyville this year because our son-in-law could bring his boat along. AND the lodge had enough beds that our single son did NOT have to sleep on a couch, as has happened in the past! The owners were very attentive and helpful with directions, showing us around, and supplying us with all the household items we could ever use. The lodge is absolutely gorgeous with plenty of space for everyone. We had 7 adults and 4 grandchildren. We could all fit around the dinner table easily. Our 2 two-year old grandkids took baths together in the large jacuzzi and had a blast. The FireFly Lodge was more than we had ever hoped for!!

“Awesome place”

Reviewed 21 May 2009

We stayed here in the month of October 2008 and we really enjoyed our stay. The place was really nice and is located in the woods and there were all amenities. There was a game room in the basement and all the adults and kids enjoyed playing all the games. We didnt have to go out for anything and every minute we spend there was worth!!! The owner was very prompt in responding with any details we had requested for and was also kind enough to guide us (through phone) to the property. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and will definitely consider for our future getaways.
