vacation rental description

Schloss Krieger (German for Palace) is an incredible vacation rental
in the Mountainaire Village. Surrounded by Ponderosa pine trees, it
is just 7 miles from Flagstaff, 45 minutes from Sedona, and just
over 1 hour away from the Grand Canyon. Other scenic destinations
near Flagstaff are Lake Powell, Sunset Crater, Meteor Crater, Walnut
Canyon, Wupatki National Monument, and the Snowbowl Ski Area. In
addition, the Museum of Northern Arizona, Lowell Observatory,
Flagstaff Arboretum and Riordan Mansion State Park are visitor
favorites. Make a reservation now and you can enjoy a luxury
living experience and vacation of your dreams in the cool pines!
Beautiful, bright and clean throughout, the house has just been
remodeled. A brand new kitchen with new appliances and granite
countertops, new floors, new bathrooms give you the feeling of
living in a romantic palace in the middle of the forest. Early in
the morning or late at night one can hear the elk call as this home
backs the Forest Service. From time to time you may wake to find Elk
in the back yard!
Our home features a great living room with a large slate fireplace
and a south facing wall of glass that looks out into the forest from
atop a limestone outcropping. Our home is romantic and, tastefully
decorated with updated quality furniture. Just wait until you take
a shower in one of spa looking bathrooms tiled in travertine. The
house sleeps 7 very comfortably. There are four bedrooms and two
full baths. There is a king bed in the Master bedroom downstairs,
and two bedrooms upstairs, each a queen bed, and one office/4th
bedroom downstairs off of the master bedroom furnished with a twin
matress. The access to this office/bedroom is through the Master bedroom.
An electric blow up queen bed is available where 2 additional
people can sleep.
The master bedroom features an adjacent private
master Bath and a brand new washer and dryer. Outside of the Master bedroom
is a beautiful winter garden where one can enjoy the pines
The house has a narrow spiral staircase which connects the upstairs from the the Master bedroom
downstairs. This is not a grand staircase. You will not impress anybody as you walk gracefully down
the steps. These steps are more like a down ladder on a nuclear submarine.
At first the stairs may feel unstable, I assure you they are very strong.

Everything we wanted

May 26, 2013

We attended a wedding at Grandeur Point, Grand Canyon & wanted a place that was convenient for wedding necessities (shopping) and still like a vacation home in the woods. The home accommodated 4 adults and 2 teen agers. My husband has some difficulty walking, but found that the entry stairs were larger & more gradual than most. Had no problem. The bedrooms were comfortable & the fireplace was wonderful late at night. We recommend this to anyone who enjoys the outdoors.

Nice Property

November 26, 2012

The house was in a great location just outside of Flagstaff in a quiet mountain neighborhood. The house has great views of the forest from the picture windows of the living room. Every morning we watched the wildlife, by the warmth of the fireplace. The first floor of the house has been beautifully remodeled; however the basement of the house (master bedroom) could use some work.

Nice place for a group of 10

Overall, this is a nice experience. Everything are fine except the pots and pans in the kitchen. They are kind of old. Some of them really need to be replaced.

Owner's reply:

Thank you for the feedback, I will replace the post and pants. I am not up there all the time so I dont always know of the condition of things in the house

Weekend in Flagstaff

June 12, 2012

The cabin is quite nice and has a beautiful view of the pines. The cabin is about 4 miles outside of Flagstaff and in a small residential community. There is really nothing to do within walking distance with the exception of possibly walking through the forest behind the house. There are no good trails there. I was disappointed by the fact that the kitchen was not very clean and the floor was very dusty. In fact, I mopped when I arrived and before I left leaving it cleaner than it was when I arrived. Otherwise, it is a quaint, quiet, tranquil location which could be very relaxing. The balcony is large but the furniture very uncomfortable and again it was relatively dirty. I don't think it was worth the $250/night price tag with an additional $75 for cleaning.

Don't Judge a Book by its Cover

Inside is nice, as pictured. All in all a good value, but only for access to the surrounding sights. The outside of the property needs work. Also, if you can figure out the exterior lighting, you win! Staircase going to the basement is downright scary. Anyone over 6'0"" and/or 200 lbs should use the exterior entrance.

Spring break review

April 4, 2011

Over all we enjoyed our stay. The home was clean, well kept and comfortable. The gas fireplace was very efficient and enjoyable. Location was perfect for us. Our family of 4 stayed for one week, with an over-all satisfied feeling upon our departure. One of the reasons we rented a house was to cook our own meals so a fully stocked kitchen was important to us. The kitchen was missing a few important cooking items like a working can opener, sharp knives (there was only one) a vegetable peeler , a vegetable steamer, and wine glasses. This was not a big deal, we simply picked these items up in town. The laundry facilities on the lower level were modern and worked great! The down side however was the spiral staircase leading to the lower level. They were very dirty, narrow and felt quite unstable as you progressed down them. The opening was so small that I had a hard time carrying laundry up or down, and I am a slim man. The bedroom down stairs was the nicest in the house but we opted to have everyone sleep upstairs , requiring our daughter to stay on the couch because of those steps. The two upstairs bedrooms were very nice so it was not a big problem. One of the reasons I chose this house was the hot tub but we did not use it because the water was cloudy and had an odor. I have a tub at home and know what the water should be like. It was suposed to be seviced but no one came during our stay so maybe it was a scheduling glitch with the service company.

Elk in the Pines Resort

July 29, 2010

This is a very nice house. My family really enjoyed our stay. The house borders the National forest so our family took several walks in the woods. The area was really quiet and peaceful. There were a lot of squirrels and acron woodpeckers. We also sall a couple of Stellar Jays by the bird feeders. I highly recommend this rental. We would like to go again.
