About Hallandale Beach

When you think of Florida beach towns, Hallandale Beach isn't the first one that comes to mind, but it is one of the fastest-growing communities in the Metro Miami area. Many of the people who vacation here return year after year and eventually retire here. Its proximity to Miami and the area's many betting opportunities make a Hallandale Beach vacation rentals tops for hot days and even hotter nights.

Things to Do

In addition to the sugar sand beach and many water activities like swimming, boating, fishing, paddle boarding, and kayaking, visitors have ample opportunities to try their luck. Two of South Florida's top race tracks are in Hallandale Beach. Gulf Stream Park is home to world-class thoroughbred horse racing and Mardi Gras Gaming hosts greyhound racing six months out of the year. Golf is also very popular in this area. While Miami is not far away, Hallandale Beach has its share of nightclubs as well. A Hallandale Beach vacation rental places you in the middle of the excitement.

Golfing at one of the many courses near Hallandale Beach is also a great activity when the sun’s not at its strongest, as is a game of tennis. Many of the Hallandale Beach vacation rentals have tennis courts, pools, spas, and fitness rooms that the tenants can use. If you can tear yourself away from your Hallandale Beach vacation rentals, make sure to enjoy the 4.61 acres of beachfront parks that the town offers. The parks house everything from playgrounds and concession stands to volleyball and basketball courts.

Hallandale Beach offers bus service as well as the City's free minibus service, which links it to the nearby cities of Hollywood and Aventura. The service runs seven days a week from 7-7. If you want to explore the surrounding areas, like Miami or Ft. Lauderdale, you'll want a car.

Hallandale Beach enjoys warm weather for most of the year, and packing a swimsuit, sunglasses, and sunblock are musts. Summer temps are in the low 90s with high humidity while winter weather ranges from the 50s-70s with much less humidity. Hurricane season runs from June 1-November 30. The Atlantic's action tends to hit in the earlier part of the season.

Hallandale has a mix of local boutiques, malls, and other shopping venues. Their major shopping areas are Diplomat Mall, the Fashion Art and Design District (formerly known as Fashion Row), and The Village at Gulf Stream Park. The Village is a premier open-air shopping and entertainment complex. In addition to the horse track, it features twelve high-end home stores including Crate & Barrel and Williams-Sonoma.
For a unique shopping experience, try AquaShop. This retail store offers the fun FlowRider where you can practice surfing indoors.

Hallandale Beach is close to Miami so it's no surprise that some of its night clubs and eateries feel more like Miami than your sleepy Florida beach town or loud spring break party bar. There's a wide variety of options from sports bars, including one with a bowling alley, to chic upscale lounges. There are dance clubs, many of which have outdoor seating. Several of the lounges open first as restaurants and later morph into trendy night spots.

A Hallandale Beach vacation rental provides much more than a quiet beach getaway. Try your luck at the track, with the slots, or deep-sea fishing and see what kind of excitement you can land. Not a gambler? Check out Hallandale Beach's newly redesigned Fashion Art and Design District and get a little something for the ones you left behind.
