About Hollywood Beach

A Hollywood Beach vacation rental allows you to escape your everyday life and find relaxation among palm trees and sandy shores. Hollywood Beach, Florida is nestled between Fort Lauderdale and Miami and offers a family-friendly vacation. Its expansive Boardwalk was named one of America's Best by Travel + Leisure magazine and it's among the first beaches in Florida to be designated as a Blue Wave Beach, placing it among the nation's cleanest, safest, and most user-friendly beaches. After a visit you'll understand why.

Things to Do

In addition to its 2.5-mile beachside promenade, the Hollywood Beach Boardwalk, this town offers plenty to do. Its powdery sand beaches and the delightful blue-green waters of the Atlantic take center stage with plenty of beach-going activities like swimming, fishing, boating, parasailing, and kayaking. The Boardwalk is the ideal spot for a seaside bike ride, jog, or stroll and it connects three oceanside parks. The parks feature old-fashioned fun like paddleball, whimsical fountains, and free live music. For families, the ArtPark at Young Circle is a popular location.

While most people opting for Hollywood Beach vacation rentals use a car to get there (or take a shuttle or taxi from the airport), once you're there, there's little need for an automobile. The Hollywood Trolley runs between Hollywood Beach and downtown as well as offering service from the rail station at Hollywood Boulevard and I-95 to downtown Hollywood. The Broadwalk also encourages walking in the area and there are many opportunities to rent bikes or surreys at local bike rental shops.

Hollywood Beach enjoys tropical temperatures (nearly) year round. June ushers in localized afternoon storms, or cloud bursts, which last minutes. Locals joke that it often rains on one side of the street and not the other. July and August are in the 80s with high levels of humidity. Hurricane season begins the first of June and runs through the end of November, with most of the Atlantic's potential activity occurring in the earlier part of the season.

You don't want to miss the Candy Cane Parade on the Broadwalk in December, which has been a beach tradition since 1955. Other well-known events include the St. Patrick's Day Parade & Festival in March, the Spring Marshmallow Drop in March/April, and the Cardboard Boat Race in October where adventuresome types try to create a seaworthy boat ...
