About Madeira Beach

With boardwalks, beaches, and plenty of fun in the sun, Madeira Beach is a top pick for Florida vacations. Pack your shades, book your choice of Madeira Beach house rentals, and get ready to experience your version of paradise.

Also known as Mad Beach, this Gulf Coast hotspot is a haven for travelers who love hot, humid weather. Summer temperatures top out in the 90s in July while January temperatures typically hover around 60 degrees. Though the area is prone to thunderstorms and rain, it’s primarily a sunny spot that makes for a great getaway.

Madeira Beach may be relatively remote as far as Florida locales go, but getting there is still a breeze. From door to door, the Tampa International Airport is just over 30 minutes from most Madeira Beach condos, and it’s best to rent a car right at the airport. As a relatively quiet community, Madeira Beach and the surrounding areas are easiest to explore by car, but visitors can hop on the Suncoast Beach Trolley to access Clearwater Beach, Indian Shores, St. Pete Beach, and much more.

Things to Do

When you visit Mad Beach, your first destination should be the city’s namesake shoreline. On Madeira Beach, you’ll find long stretches of soft, white sand, gentle waves, and maybe even a dolphin or two offshore. If you time your visit right, you might even catch a stunning sunset across the gulf. Though this is a top spot for relaxing, there’s also adventure to be had. Get high above the water with a parasailing trip, or cut through the Gulf of Mexico on a two-person jet ski.

For an offshore adventure, charter a fishing trip with local favorites Fintastic or Bent Charters, and try your luck at catching grouper, amberjack, snapper, or even tuna. For some onshore fun, take the kids to the Alligator Attraction, where they can see gators, lizards, and turtles up close and even try their hand at training a reptile.

Families will want to check out The Alligator Attraction. This experience is both educational and fun and it is where fifty alligators, koi and tortoise make their home. Tour the facility to learn more about these incredible creatures. If reptiles aren’t your thing, play putt-putt golf at Smugglers Cove Adventure Golf. Kids and adults can play a round of putt-putt golf in the midst of pirate ships and natural scenery. This mini-golf course is challenging fun at its best.
