About Cape Coral

Dubbed the Waterfront Wonderland, Cape Coral, Florida is a stunning vacation spot for the outdoorsy traveler. Boasting more than 350 days of sunshine and comfortable temperatures all year long, Cape Coral vacation rentals are in high demand. Travel here to explore the area’s intricate network of waterways via boat, to lounge on the beautiful beaches, or to partake in an array of recreational activities. Whatever your pleasure, you won’t be disappointed.

Climate

Whenever you visit Cape Coral, the chances that you’ll enjoy some sunshine on your trip are great. That being said, the best time to visit is during the winter months when temperatures are in the 70s F and dry weather makes for uninterrupted plans. Summers are hot and humid with temperatures that climb into the 90s, and the area experiences hurricane season from June to November. Storms are usually fleeting, though, and any time you’re indoors you’ll be immediately relieved by the comfort of air conditioning.

Things to Do

Cape Coral is renowned for its dazzling Gulf Coast beaches, including the Yacht Club Beach and the beach at Four Freedoms Park. Both are public, open to visitors year-round, and boast pristine sands, stunning views, and easy access to playgrounds. Keep in mind that there are no lifeguards on duty at either beach, though. The miles of canals also beckon to be discovered by visitors. Experience nature on an eco-tour with Banana Bay Tour Company, and bring your camera so you can capture viewing dolphins at sunset.

When you’re looking for a break from beachside fun, explore some of the amazing local attractions. Sun Splash Family Waterpark is a popular spot and features the Cape Fear ride. With its 30-foot high platform and 215-foot tunnel, this ride will get hearts racing and is perfect for teenagers and adults. For kids, there are a variety of child-sized slides as well as a tot-spot where little ones can play in an interactive land. For a quieter activity, the Cape Coral Historical Museum features exhibits that will delight the entire family. If you’ve left the kids at home, make an outing of a visit to the Wicked Dolphin Rum Distillery. Tours run every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday giving you a chance to learn about the rum before tasting it.
