About Rotonda

Master-planned in the shape of a wheel, Rotonda is a unique planned community near Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda on Florida’s southwest coast. It is encircled by a 30-mile freshwater canal system that flows into each of the pie-shaped wedges that form the neighborhoods. Temperatures are at their hottest during the summer and while they can reach into the mid-90s, temperatures are typically cooled by comforting sea breezes. Evenings are slightly cooler, so pack a light jacket just in case. During the winter, expect temperatures that range from 50 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit. 


There are several major airports within driving distance of Rotonda, with Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport being the closest. Arrive here and rent a car for the easiest way to get around the area and to reach this community connected to the mainland by three bridges. Having a car will come in handy as well for day trips to cities like Sarasota, Fort Myers, and the Orlando theme parks, such as Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, and Sea World, which are all about a two and a half hour drive from Rotonda.
