nice location - a little bit run down

November 6, 2015

we had wonderful days in FLL and the property itself is nice, though needs some refurbishment here and there. Overall the house has a good standard, huge enough for 2 families of 4. It was clean, neat and had all we need to spend a great vacation to explore the neighborhood and all what Florida has to offer.

The house so lovely you may forget the beach!

July 18, 2014

This gem of a house was a perfect fit for our two families, traveling with four kids ages two to ten. Everyone came prepared for south Florida's sporadic summer rain showers, and we walked to the beach or hopped into the pool every sunny moment. It was easy being so close to the beach. We didn't even haul any gear...just walked out with a towel or bucket of toys as the mood took us. Our eight year old lived in his swim trunks and we couldn't convince him to get out of the pool even for ice cream. He swam thru the rain and we had to force him to come in when we heard thunder! My husband loved the gourmet kitchen, and it was so convenient to drive to Whole Foods for beautiful produce or go out to dine al fresco at the perfect Greek Taverna nearby. Pizza and gelato are within walking distance, but even closer is the beach--literally steps before your feet touches sand. I loved opening the balcony windows to the sound of the ocean. I took moonlight walks and sunrise swims on this quiet section of the beach. We lived in Ft. Lauderdale several years ago and needed a spot on the beach for us to relax and reconnect with old friends. Thank you, Walter, for your hospitality and for maintaining a pristine home I wish we had rented for the month! It's hard to return overseas after such a lovely week.

Christmas in Fort Lauderdale

January 12, 2014

Our family enjoyed our week. The location was good and the villa was clean and large. The house was advertised to sleep 12 and this is true. What was not mentioned was that 6 people using 2 beds and one couch are all in the master bedroom. One other bedroom which sleeps 2 also opens into this same master bedroom. Another bedroom again accommodating 2 shares the main bathroom with the master bedroom and also exits through the master. There is a patio door exit in this room as well. Only one bedroom is truly private, furnished with a large bed and a small child's bed. While this is adequate for a family, it could be disastrous for a group that is counting on some privacy. The rate was at the top of the scale but the house needed some care. There were problems with the WiFiI and the TV in the master bedroom and the handles on many of the windows were broken. The owner was helpful and tried her best to solve the issues but we would not rent this villa again, despite the proximity to the town and the beach.

Great trip

January 12, 2013

could not have been better!!! Brought boat with us, docked it in back yard. Had a blast. Wonderful house, spaced out for 2 families if needed. Plenty of room. We had 7 with room to spair. All you need in a kitchen, but the food there is great. Went out to much to hard to turn down. Washed all cloths before leaving so unpacking was a breeze can't say enough. Beautiful place to spend any amount of time long or short it's well worth it. Thanks you really really enjoyed our trip,I'm sure we will be back . Came down for the BCS game. Roll Tide Roll !! :)

Owner's reply:

It was such a pleasure to have such nice guests!! My cleaning girls really appreciated your taking the time to give them a head start on the laundry. I hope to see you again your next vacation time.

This villa was centrally located close to the middle of Lauderdale by the Sea. Excellent location. However, the villa itself was a little 'worn out'. It could do with an update in decor. We had problems with a leaking roof one night during a storm. However, after reporting the problem the owner took prompt action. Overall we were pleased with the villa and its location but it could do with a revamp to bring it up to the standard displayed on the website pictures.

Needs Work

April 25, 2012

This is a mixed bag. The address we were given for the property was wrong, which we discovered at 10PM when we arrived. To her credit the agent/owner responded promptly to our voice and emails and got us to the property we rented around midnight. The house was clean, but smelled a bit musty - not unusual with rental properties. It rained torrents on one of the days were were there and the roof leaked into the house in three places, fortunately none of them above the master beds, and flooded the walkway to the street which made getting out of the house difficult. The room layout is a bit odd with small bedrooms (one of which had a roof leak) off of the two master bedrooms and without direct bathroom access or direct access to the house; this would be fine for two couples with kids, but unacceptable if more than two couples are going to stay there. The back yard needs some gardening work, the pier is visibly damaged, and we noticed rats going into the garage. Finally we couldn't use the in-sink garbage disposal because it leaked. On the positive side, the public areas (living room, dining room and kitchen) were quite nice and the house was nicely furnished.

vernon stay

August 9, 2010

Our stay at this fabulous home was our first experience of staying at a home that met all of our needs. It was comfortable, spacious, well kept with the necessary household equipment and facility to meet our family needs. We had fun but our time was too short, so next time, we are going to ensure that out stay will be much long. From all the Tudors.

We were very disappointed with this house for many reasons. 1. The roof leaked in numerous places (bedroom, bathroom and garage)causing many problems. Garage floor had an inch or so of water and the main entrance to the house is through the garage, so we were always walking through water and tracking it into the house. 2. Kitchen sink was clogged up. We had to use the toilet plunger to unclog it. 3. Layout of the house is weird have to walk through 2 bedrooms and a bathroom to get to the 4th bedroom. To get to the main part of the house from 2 bedrooms you have to walk through the master bedroom so if you want any privacy in your bedrooms this is not the place to rent. 4. Kitchen dishwasher isn't attached to the wall so when you open it and pull the shelf out the dishwasher falls forward.
