Description from owner

Visit my listing on Vacation Rentals By Owner #(607703) for more pictures & detailed rates.

This bay front, custom built 5,000 sq ft. home, is located near the two mile marker on Ft. Morgan Road. It's truly a fisherman's dream! Early risers can sit on one of two large balconies & sip coffee while watching dolphins, shrimp boats, & the ferry cross between the Fort & Dauphin Island. If swimming in the bay isn't for you then just across the street are the beautiful, pristine beaches of Gulf Shores. You can have the best of all worlds with this vacation rental. It's away from the mainstream beach traffic, but both the salty sea & the bay are at your fingertips.

Our home is a two-tier design with parking below the house. It has a spacious floor plan with an open kitchen/dining/& den areas that overlook the bay. There are 2 bedrooms & 2 baths downstairs. The staircase leads to an open landing area, a 3rd bedroom, and the master bed/ bath.

Kitchen: fully stocked with all cooking necessities & small appliances (coffee pot, toaster etc)

*new stainless double oven & microwave

*Stainless fridge that is 1 year old

Dining Table: seats 8, bar area seats 4

Den: Sectional couch & Love Seat, flat screen TV (with Dish Network)

Hall Bath- full bathroom with double marble vanity, seperate tub/shower & toliet room

Master bedroom & bath: These are both HUGE rooms. A private balcony that overlooks the bay is accessible through french doors in the master bedroom.

A king size bed & a decorative love seat provide ample sleeping space. The room also has a dresser, chester drawers, 2 nightstands, flat screen TV, and a small desk.

Master bath- huge open area with double marble vanity, walk in shower.

* towels/rags are in each bathroom

* Full size washer/dryer

*additional roll-away beds are in the downstairs hall closet. Linens are not provided for these. If you plan to use them, you might wat to bring twin size sheets & extra blankets from home.

* Below the house in the storage room you will find a kayak with paddles, misc. fishing supplies, & a ping pong table. Renters are welcome to use any of these items. However, we do ask that you DO NOT take the ping pong table upstairs. It can be brought out under the house on the huge slab and played. Please remember to put it away (as you found it) at the end of your stay. The kayak is to be used at your own risk. WE are not responsible for ANY accidents that may occur while exploring in the kayak. Also, I do suggest you wear swimming shoes when venturing very far out in the bay. It is to be used ONLY in the bay waters directly in front of our house. Never should it leave premises.

*Due to past storms, our pier is no longer in existance. We have plans to rebuild it very soon.

*There is ample parking for families bringing more than one vehicle in our yard.

* Boats & Jet Skis welcome!!! A public launch is less than 2 miles away (at Ft. Morgan).

*Crab & fish till your heart is content from the public pier (same place where the launch is) that is open 24hrs. This is also where the Mobile Bay Ferry loads to take you across the bay to Dauphin Island.

About the area

Visit my listing on Vacation Rentals By Owner #(607703) for more pictures & detailed rates. Fort Morgan is located at the tip of Mobile Point. It and Dauphin Island, on which Fort Gaines is situated, enclose Mobile Bay. The history of the fort dates back to the War of 1812 and continues to be very intriguing today. Tours of the fort & museum are offered daily. Our home is only 2 miles from the fort! Children & adults alike enjoy riding across Mobile Bay to Ft. Gaines on the Ferry. Once arriving at Dauphin Island, along with touring Ft. Gaines, a visit to the Sea Lab is a must!!! Fishing options are unlimited. From the shore banks, to private/public piers, and in the waters of the bay/ Gulf of Mexico there's no telling what you could reel in. Speckled Trout, Redfish, White Trout, & Mullet are some of the inshore favorites. While Off-Shore you may be lucky enough to pull in Red Snapper, Grouper, King Mackerel, and/or Amberjack. There is a huge public pier at the fort that is open 24 hrs a day. Both Inshore & deep sea fishing trips are available through the Gulf Shores Marina's Charter Fleet (less than a mile from the house). While Ft. Morgan is a secluded piece of paradise there are several restaurant options available within minutes of the house. (Tacky Jacks 2, Sassy Bass, The Beach Club). Since Gulf Shores is known for yummy seafood I thought I would list a few of our favorites. All the ones listed below are in the Gulf Shores/ Orange Beach area (about 25 min away from the house) -Lu Lu's Homeport (has an outdoor activity area for the kids to play) -Papa Rocco's Pizza -The Hangout (has an outdoor activity area for the kids to play) -Cosmos -Brick & Spoon -Cobalt -Lambert's (Foley) Additional Activities close by: -Waterville USA - Put-Put Golf - The Track (Go- Carts, mini-golf, arcade) -Tanger shopping outlets (Foley) -The Warf (free weekend summer entertainment)

“Family memories were made.”

Reviewed 19 Oct 2015

Three generations of family spent a memorable week in this wonderfully located house. Big enough for everyone to have there own space but also close enough to enjoy family time. Very serene location. A small pod of dolphins swam by everyday about mid afternoon. A little far from town but if you want to relax and enjoy your vacation, send an email to Tanya. She was very nice and helpful with any questions we had.

Owner's reply: Thanks so much! My family & I love getting to know our guests & strive to make sure their experiences at HomePlace are awesome! Hope to hear from yall again very soon!
