Description of the Fort Myers vacation home rental
The Tropicana Park is a friendly resident-owned 500 unit 55+ manufactured home gated community near Sanibel and Captiva islands, Fort Myers Beach, Bunche Beach, Lovers Key Beach and the Gulf of Mexico. The Park has a classic Florida look, with palm trees, gardens, and well-kept homes. There is no parking on the streets. It is quiet and well maintained by the Co-op Board.

Our unit is a double wide fully air conditioned manufactured home with brand new tiled bathrooms and new appliances. It has recently been painted inside and out. Basically everything is new. We are well situated on a no-outlet cul de sac. Our backyard faces a stream and a woodsy area which attracts a great blue heron, other shore birds, ospreys and ducks (no gators!)

The people who come here are mostly "snow-birds" from the mid-west and Canada. We are from New Jersey.About 10%b live here year-round. There is a clubhouse (with internet wireless) , two heated pools, shuffle board and many social activities.

We have a new Sony HDTV with a BlueRay DVD player and Dish satellite. There is a washer, dryer, and dishwasher. The sink has a garbage disposal.There is a large pantry. Off the living room is a screened-in lanai. We recently re-did the home, so it has a like-new feel.

There is a patio in back, off the master bedroom. The sun sets in front of our house. There is city water and sewers.

The house is newly furnished and has some antiques plus original photographs on the walls. We will soon update some of the photos on this site. We have an adult tricycle and a two wheel bike (both are new.) There is an outdoor electric grill.

Note: One of the renters has to be over 55, and Tropicana will do a background check. Our minimum stay is 3 weeks. Also please note: ABSOLUTELY No Pets. I have horrible allergies. Thank you.

Area Information
Fort Myers is a Southwest Florida city, but our home is in the southern part of town which is less congested and convenient to the Gulf and beaches. Within 5 minutes of our house is an outlet center with major brands,Publix super market, large pharmacies, and banks. The library is nearby as is a major medical center. The highways to the beaches and airport are a few minutes away. The excellent Bell Tower Mall is about 15 minute drive. Downtown Fort Myers is undergoing a renaissance with theaters, bars, antique shops, restaurants, etc.

There are many activities in the area including fishing, golf, arts, theatre and fine places to eat. Major highways make us convenient to Naples and Sarasota. You can easily cross the state to reach the east coast and Miami. It takes about 4 hours. You can drive to Disney Orlando in about 4 hours.
