Beautiful cabin, well kept, very comfortable for three adults. The lake was great for fishing, swimming and kayaking every day. The location is perfect, out away from every day life, but close enough to do day trips to surrounding attractions (Acadia, Fort Know, Belfast). My favorite part was sitting on the screened porch (kept bugs away) and enjoying the night time air. We really enjoyed our week here. Thanks Mike and Lisa!
“Beautiful Swan Lake Cottage”
I highly recommend vacationing at this beautiful relaxing cottage! You can tell by all the amenities that are included and how clean and nice the cottage is that the owners really care about you having a wonderful vacation. This cottage is very high quality. There is wireless internet and lots of channels available on the t.v., although we spent most of our time outside! There are plenty of bath towels, beach towels, dish towels, all bedding plus extra blankets and pillows, dish machine soap,( and it is so nice to have a dish machine!) dish soap, all dishes even a lobster pot, which we used! Yummy! Plenty of books to read, even one of my favorite author's, Danielle Steele, games and puzzles, cribbage board and cards. Also binoculars, which would be great for the eagle we saw and the mother duck and baby ducks who came right up to our beach! There is a daily newspaper delivered. Washer and dryer were convenient to have. One of the things we loved the most was the large screened in porch with a large table facing the lake. We ate almost all our meals out there. There is also a nice picnic table outside, a gas grill and charcoal grill. There is a nice sandy beach area with a large fire pit that we used to all sit around and talk and make s'mores at night.(bring your fire wood). There is a dock that we anchored our motor boat up to for a few days. The public ramp is across the lake, you can google for a map to it. The owner Lisa was very nice and wonderful to deal with!! We all had a wonderful vacation and our family members that visited loved the place also! We will definitely rent here again! Thank You Lisa for letting us use your beautiful cottage and making memories we will always have!
“Great family friendly rental.”
Wonderful Lake with great fishing, our week was very quiet even without neighbors the whole time. Property itself is fine, nice cabin/house, everything worked (within reason, it is an older house in the woods so don't expect all doors to close quietly :), everything was clean, do not expect the beach to be sandy.. we were little disappointed by that but made the best of it, you won't be making lot of sand castles, but the pebbles are smooth so as long as kids have some sort of crocs/shoes they'll be fine and have fun, by no means is that fault of the owner, that's just how the whole lake is including the public beach which is about a mile away. Simple fire pit & great outdoor area, beautiful view, very clean lake.. as proof of that on our last day we were treated to snapping turtles burying eggs on the owners private beach by the firepit. For activities, we did some antiquing, visited the observation tower at the bridge (forgot the name), visited couple old forts, of course did plenty of swimming, playing, fishing, kayaking, BBQing and stopped by the shore at the nearby state park. 0 complaints. Only suggestion for the owners or potential renters: maybe have couple baby gates available for the spiral staircase or notify people to bring theirs, we engineered something from various things to get by which was fine. Only an issue if you have little ones that are big enough to maybe open the upstairs door at night.
We came with our motorcycle and little girl (dalmatian), and had a wonderful, relaxing week at the cottage. Plenty to do and see in the area. But our best time was relaxing at the cottage. Lisa and Mike are very friendly , and EVERYTHING is at the cottage. If you are looking for an A+ cottage , privacy, and down time to recharge, please consider this cottage, you won't be disappointed.
Stayed one week. Had a very relaxing time. Everything you need is supplied. saw Eagles- Loons-Geese. Lake was great. Low but great.
We had a wonderful week at Swan Lake! It rained a good amount, but could still enjoy the view from inside the screened porch. Watching movies at night with a family of six adults was a little cramped but cozy. We had to bring over chairs from the kitchen and re-arrange furniture to all get a seat, but if it wasn't raining then we would have been down at the fire pit anyway. The lake was very clean and large. We really appreciated the outdoor seating that was provided. Loved seeing the view of the lake from all the rooms in the house! The only thing that was lacking, was a sharp knife for cooking, and a wooden cutting board. They had one of everything else you could need though. We would definitely rent this again. Owners were very helpful and nice to deal with. Thank you Mike and Lisa for being so great to rent from.
“Awesome relaxing vacation!”
The Tripp's Swan Lake camp was extraordinary. I definitely would not hesitate to rent this camp again.
“Mike & Lisa Tripp's place - 90 Lake Rd.”
Our 2d stay and everything was just wonderful. As a kid, I learned to swim at this lake. The state park was walker's beach when I was young. Heard the loons and one bald eagle and geese. We now live in California and would stay here again and again. Cabin has everything you would ever need. We'll be back soon.
“Peaceful cabin with exquisite view”
The view on the lake is pure tranquility, we saw a bald eagle and loons daily. The sounds of the loons are the only noise we heard at times. The cabin is laid out extremely well capturing lake views from all rooms. It's done in a rustic comfortable motif. It entertains easily due to the great layout. Lisa left plenty of towels and the kitchen was well equipped even with all the necessary tools for cooking up live Maine lobsters. Lisa was very accommodating in helping us get settled in with locating a boat ramp that serves the lake. I would love to return to this cabin in the fall again, the colors were gorgeous. Swanville Grocery located just 3 miles from the cabin had an amazing selection of everything we needed. Belfast Maine on the coast was just a 15 minute drive to some excellent restaurants and Bar Harbor was a very aesthetic drive an hour and 20 minutes away.
“Heaven on the water.”
Bring your bathing suit - and not much else, because this fantastic home has it all. The lake is pristine, the private beach sandy, and the beds are comfortable. The house is perfect for our family, with the big bedroom and bath downstairs and two more up, so the adult kids have their own space. There's a country store just a few miles off that's far better than the average, and you're within half an hour of the coast. The lake is quiet - very little boat traffic. The owners are amazingly responsive and helpful. We'd go again.
