Considering the price, this cabin rental really deserves five stars. You'd be hard-pressed to find a dog-friendly hotel room for less than this, and this was much more comfortable and fun than a hotel. Cabin was clean, comfortable, and well-stocked, even had condiments in the fridge and coffee samples! Also had bath samples, shampoo, etc., all cooking pans, implements, etc. Fairly basic otherwise, no hot tub, no laundry, not enough hot water for a bath, needs newer faucets, decor a little cutesy,t.v. satellite didn't work well, but still very nice, esp. for the price. Nice living room, dining area, bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom. Pretty good hiking near-by, e.g. the Applachian trail, tho' the map I got from the Visitor Ctr south of Franklin was useless. The bed I used was VERY comfortable, better than my bed at home, and I've had 2 back surgeries. It was also very quiet; I slept great! Kathie the landlady was very helpful, sent back my deposit promptly. I stayed at a more expensive cabin in Elijay, GA, last year, and the road up to this cabin was a piece of cake compared to the one in Elijay. My little van didn't have a problem with it but it would be a challenge for most vehicles under bad weather conditions. For the price, you won't find a better rental than this!

My wife, 12 year old grandson from England, and I spent 4 nights and three days at Mrs Beaty's cabin near Franklin and just up from the Cherokee Ruby mine. We enjoyed the well appointed and clean cabin. It was a bit difficult comming up the gravel road in our Grand Caravan. The tires were spinning on the grade. No trouble going down and after unloading the van going up was much better. We were pleased to go gem mineing so close to the cabin. A minor disappointment was the lack of laundry at the cabin. The only other disappointment was lack of cell coverage on our phone and we had to go into Franklin and hunt for a payphone. The owners were very accomadating and kept in touch to see if we needed anything even though they were away on a trip too. Overall a very good experience and would not hesitate to do it again. Highly recommended to all
