Description of the Galveston vacation home rental
Our 104 year old home is in the prestigious East End Historic District of Galveston Island. There are 2 bedrooms downstairs and 1 extra-large bedroom, plus a loft upstairs. All rooms (except loft) have ceiling fans. The downstairs area has Central H/A while the upstairs has quiet window air conditioners. There is a flat screen TV in the living room and one in a downstairs bedroom, both with Dish and Netflix. The loft has a flat screen TV as does the large bedroom upstairs. Both have Dish as well. WIFI is provided. Linens and towels are provided but we ask that you bring your own beach towels. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to make a meal or a snack. All dishes and cookware plus a microwave, toaster, 2 coffee makers, electric can opener, crock pot, electric skillet, mixer, and blender. Our garage will hold one car or truck and several motorcycles. There is a laundry room in the garage. We provide a large beach umbrella, swim noodles, boogie boards and skim boards for your enjoyment. When you come back from the beach, hang your towels out to dry on our large front porch overlooking the neighborhood, enjoy some dinner and then play Twister. It's hilarious and we'd love to see some Twister Pics on our FB page, on Instagram, and Twitter. We are centrally located on the Island approximately 9 to 10 blocks from the beach and 9 blocks from the Strand Historic Shopping District. We are only 2 blocks from UTMB, with the Cruise terminals and deep-sea fishing charters very close as well. When you arrive, you will find a book with menus from some of the restaurants on the island as well as directions to where the locals eat and also information on Galveston beaches. We are a very short walk away from The Sunflower Bakery and Cafe', The Mosquito Cafe', and The Original Mexican Cafe'. All three are great places to congregate and eat and all three are local favorites. Now there are two new kids on the block getting rave reviewsSmooth Tony's Juice Bar and Grill, only 5 blocks from the house with great food and live music on the weekends and Farley Girls, a two minute drive away.
