Description of the Galveston vacation home rental
Come enjoy the beach! This sunny split level beachside beauty surrounded by lush tropical landscaping in the exclusive resort area of Pirates Beach on Galveston Island's West End is just what you need for a getaway. All you need to do is bring your food, clothes and suntan lotion.

We have a fresh new interior design accented by nautical colors! Enjoy a unique floor plan, perfectly designed for groups or families with children with 4+ bedrooms and four full bathrooms. The house can comfortably accommodate 13 guests (with a maximum occupancy of 19 if you utilize all the convertible sofa/futon beds). There is enough parking for four cars in the driveway.

Great location! Close enough to the Gulf for ocean breezes - and only a five minute walk to the protected neighborhood beach! This beach home is less than a 10 minute drive (8 miles) to the hustle and bustle of Galveston restaurants and shops and just under an hour to downtown Houston.

Come enjoy the clean and airy rooms, the peacefulness of the three large decks and verandah (four of the five bedrooms overlook decks or verandah) and lush landscaping of the large fenced-in garden complete with outdoor shower, ample seating and a grassy yard for children to play. The covered verandah and pavilion style pergola are cool areas even under the mid day sun. The game room is a perfect distraction. The upper decks are perfect for star gazing after a long day on the beach.

In the gourmet kitchen with granite island serving bar and oak cabinets you will find a full-size refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, microwave, and an ample supply of serving dishes, pots, pans, utensils, glasses, and flatware for everyone. You can use the countertop for casual dining for four or for serving to the dining room table that seats 6. A picnic tables outside on the lower level verandah seat over a dozen people and the chairs on the 2nd floor deck are also a wonderful spots to enjoy a meal. All you need to provide are the ingredients to create and serve fabulous meals.

Bring your young children - Mutineer Landing is child friendly! A high chair and portable crib are available on request. The home is equipped with a game room and a washer and dryer. There is lots of shade on the verandah under the second floor rear deck for play during mid day sun or even rain.

Unusual for beachside homes, this home features an oversized fenced yard with lush landscaping. Enjoy the sounds of the ocean breeze as it blows through dozens of tall palm trees, oleander and hibiscus. The large covered deck which runs across the entire front of the house is perfect for al fresco dining or late night conversations. Take your morning coffee up to the upper deck and energize yourself with ocean breeze and a bird's eye view.

After a fun day at the beach enjoy the outdoor shower to wash the sand off and then enjoy some time in the game room or a soak in the hot tub spa on the first floor deck while the charcoal fire is heating up in the BBQ grill!

Need some other activities? Golf? Swimming Pool? No problem, the Galveston Country Club is only two blocks away and we can provide you access upon request.

Absolutely No Pets and No Smoking.

A word about smoking and deposits: This beach house is our home away from home and we spend a lot of family time enjoying it. We are VERY SERIOUS about our rental policy. Also, this is not a bare bones beach house, it is very much our home, so please understand the $500 cash deposit will not be refunded until we have had an opportunity to check the house for damage.

Great Family Getaway

March 9, 2011

Love the floor plan with four bathrooms and 5 separte sleeping areas, no one felt crowed even with a large group. I thought it would mean someone would end up sleeping on the couch, but there were plenty of beds for all of us. The house was lovely and well equiped. We loved the large downstairs deck for playng cards and eating. A short walk to the beach, but the beach is very nice and clean here. Everyone in my group had a great time!

nice but....

December 8, 2010

It was a beautiful home and had everything we needed but the coushes and walls were dirty. Also, for a home that is suppose to accommodate 2 families or 10 people, there was only enough hot water for 2 poeple to shower. Overall we had a great time and loved the home!

Unit 219-Pirates Review

August 13, 2010

Generally, the house is nice, clean and spacious. However, there was a problem with ants. Ants were everywhere. We had to spray inside the house and vacuum the house every day. The Internet should be upgraded from wire to wireless. The house can fit 17 people, but no wireless Internet. Only maximum of 4 laptops can be connected to the router. With three days raining and the only very basic cable TV in the living room, it was bored when we had to stay inside the house with nothing to do. The other thing is that we requested a replacement of the refrigerator's dirty filter on the 3rd day staying there, but nothing happened. Last but not least, we had no pet, but had been charged $100 for having pets on the property. We think whoever driving by to inspect probably looked at the wrong house because the neighbor next door to the right has two big dogs. However, after discussing with the property management personnel, we got a refund. To summarize, although with the above issues, we had a nice week stay and definitely recommend this house to friends.

Refreshing Sanctuary

July 29, 2010

Our vacation in Galveston was mind blowing; the home was all and more that the web site advertised. The view of the beach was awesome and the wind from the waves was like a refreshing rain, washing off the residue of worries and a renewal of the human spirit to overcome challenges or obstacles one may face in the experience of every day living.

We rented this house because we were one of the crews cleaning up the island after the hurricane, stayed a month with the agreement there would not be a 30 day notice to move out (like anyone else was coming) We endured the re-roofing of the house which was understandable. We reported when the roofers knocked a light off the front of the house and killed the a/c. Left very clean, no refund of $2500.00, no reply. watch your contract.

October 4, 2007

My friend and I rented this house this summer. We brought her mom and and a total of 6 kids. It is a WONDERFUL house!!! The floorplan was great, the house was super clean, the kids loved the "bunkbed room" and we enjoyed the deck greatly. The walk to the beach was pleasant and we would highly recommend this house!!

" for my family"

June 14, 2007

I have been searching for the spot where i could look up and see god so clearly, and hear him so softly, to bring my children for a lot of self repair. Your home is heaven! I could feel the serenity and laughter. It was a beautiful tour. Sincerely, Dawn
