We had a wonderful, peaceful stay in this beautiful home. The yard was well maintained and being fenced in provided peace of mind being able to let the children run and play. Everything that we wanted to do was within minutes and easy to find. We will definitely visit again :)

Couldn't find the Bay/Beach Charm anywhere

After driving an eternity away from the beach, I pull up in the driveway....get out of my car and what do I hear GOATS Baying. The place is in the middle of a run down rural farm neighborhood. The view from the front deck is noisy goats, old farm equipment piles of trash, a dilapidated house with boards on the windows, apparently never repaired after hurricane Ike. An old RV sitting right out at the road across the street, and old farm equipment. Oh and piles of dirt. Nothing remotely beachy there If you are looking for a beach vacation....this is not the place for you. You are no where near walking to any beach, so you have to pack everything up---drive to the beach----unpack everything---repack everything when it's time to go. I would think that for over $1000.00 for 4 nights the accommodations would have been a little better kept and up beat. The kitchen counters had pieces missing with bear wood showing, in the kitchen the Formica has been put on the inside of the bar and just cut all sharp and ragged. In the bathroom, you have to store your toilet paper in the bathroom window because the toilet paper holder is not there. One of the sinks the cold water handle on the faucet is broken, but they have left the broke piece there so you can put in back on long enough to turn on the water. For what they charge you they want you to wash you bed linens, and expect you to clean, but there is no vacuum and the broom was broken to pieces. It isn't bad that it is a little away from the main drag, but it is represented as being a charming Bay Beach Cottage.

This house was absolutely perfect. We had six guys down from DFW for a weekend fishing trip and everything about it was great. Excellent dishes to cook with, plenty of space and just an overall great layout. Everyone had a place to sleep and we stayed up pretty late and there weren't really any neighbors to disturb. Highly recommend this place. It's close to town, beach and the bay. Only thing missing is a pool.
great place to stay for a getaway

Recently visited galveston and was lucky enough to find this jewel. Really a great place to stay. Located about 4 city blocks from the ocean,it has three really good size bedrooms, nice kitchen, and a good size living room. This met all my needs. really good contact w/ the owner. Easy to rent. I will definately stay here again
