Description of the Galveston vacation condo rental
Come enjoy the sand, sun and surf of Galveston from this bright and cheery condo. Comfortable sleeping accommodations for up to 8. How great to have a "home away from home!"

Only 12 Maravilla units are truly Gulf facing - with balconies literally on the Seawall - this is one of those spectacular 12 - and being a side unit adds a window for additional natural light.

Beachy but not overly so, the condo is decorated to welcome you home at the end of a day at the beach, pool, sightseeing, golfing, fishing, crabbing, or whatever Galveston activity suits your fancy. Gorgeous views and a balcony that comfortably accommodates your family for people or dolphin watching, or dinner on the patio!

Two sliding doors to the large balcony (from master bedroom or from living room room) overlooking the Gulf of Mexico.

PS2 game system. Bring your games or your Blockbuster card to rent them when you get here. The closet is full of beach/pool toys, chairs, umbrella, etc. for use during your stay.

Fully equipped kitchen with full sized appliances, cook in or eat out at the numerous eateries around. Kitchen has breakfast bar and bar stools, plenty of dishes to feed your army, coffee maker, toaster, blender, mixer, pots and pans, silverware, glassware, knife block, spice rack, etc.

Living room features a wonderful new sleeper sofa, flat panel, wall-mounted TV/DVD combo, additional seating and just plain cozy relaxing!

Complex has two pools and a hot tub, lush tropical landscaping, underground parking, walking distance to miniature golf, batting cages, movie theater, and much more. Schlitterbahn almost in our backyard. Not all amenities are available at all times. Due to cleaning, construction, etc., pools, hot tub and grounds may be inaccessible from time to time.

Smoking allowed on patio only. We welcome one small dog to share your space with you - no cats allowed due to owner allergies.

Galveston is growing! The Historic Pleasure Pier is being brought back with a carnival atmosphere,
rides, games, etc. Look for this to be completed in late May. Also, directly to the west of the Maravilla on Seawall Boulevard, the Marriott Corporation is constructing new hotel options for future visitors. Construction hours are somewhere in the vicinity of 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and there is heavy equipment and at times more noise than others. Please don't let this stop
you from coming as we have reduced our rates to accommodate for the inconvenience, even though the heaviest noise time is during the day when most of our guests are out sightseeing, at the beach, etc. The front building and some west side units at the Maravilla are undergoing a facelift with new siding and railings being installed. The units that we manage in these areas
during this time. There may be noise to some of the other units while this progress is being made. Some of the Maravilla units, likewise, are undergoing facelifts to their interiors and you may from time to time hear noise associated with that, but work hours end by early evening. Experience Galveston now, while our rates are lower!

June, 2006 - This was our first trip to Galveston since '95. WOW what a change. Condo is really nice. Everything works as it should. No surprises!!! We enjoyed the fact that we were able to email the owner with questions and got a quick response. That goes a long way in today's

July, 2006 - We are really enjoying our vacation here. It's my 70th birthday and my four grown daughters surprised me with a birthday bash. The view is great. The sleeping space good, too. Very well equipped. Loved being close to all seafood restaurants. We paln to make it annually.

July, 2006

We have stayed many places in Galveston but this is truly the best by far. We are building a new house and the way this one is decorated gives me lots of ideas. We loved everything about the condo and resort area. Thanks for sharing your home with us.

Aug, 2007 - Had a wonderful weekend (again). We even got lucky enough to watch dolphins play from the balcony. Hopefully we'll see you next year.

Aug, 2007 - Well we had an excellent trip to Galveston. We started our first day out crabbing directly across from condo we successfully caught right under 40 blue crabs with nothing but string and chicken neckes. We boiled them up for supper the same night. The community BBQ pits were great for the stak & pork chops we had along with the crab.

Aug, 2007 - Thanks so much for a great homespot during our vacation. We enjoyed walking down to the pier to watch sunrises; the views from the condo were wonderful! Our goal was to relax and get lots of sun before school begins - this pool was a fantastic place to swim and read and get lots of sun. The grounds here are so beautifully kept up - we could enjoy the tropical greenery and flowers while hearing the ocean.

May, 2008 - We would like to thank you for having us in yoru cozy, adorable condo. it was a perfect home-away-from-home for this group. We all became friends in college and look forward to quick trip vacations so that we can reunite and relive our college days. By allowing us to rent from you, we were able to continue oru tradition. Thanks for everything.

May, 2008 - We loved your place. Thank you so much for letting us rent it. My girls loved the pool. We visited Moody Gardens, Palm Beach, found

In 2004 I purchased my first Galveston property. Galveston is where my heart sings. Born in Texas, moving frequently as a child, and "growing up" for the most part in the northeast and midwest, I spent many summers in Galveston where my grandmother lived and my mother was raised. I rode the ferry...

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is Galveston/This Condo just for summer and the beach?
A: Oh my goodness, no! Galveston has so very much to offer. Whether it's sunny and you're working on your tan at the beach or the pool, or its a hazy overcast day and you want to walk on the beach and collect seashells, OR if you want to check out the local history might I suggest a stop at the Galveston Chamber of Commerce located in the historic strand. The Chamber was the first established in Texas in 1845 and has a visitor welcome center. They love to meet visitors to our great City and will share with you a variety of things you can do on any budget!
Q: What is YOUR favorite thing to do in Galveston?
A: Honestly - I grew up in the north (and I don't mean Dallas, I mean PA and IL). I spent summers, though, at my grandmother's home in Galveston and I would ride the Bolivar Ferry (FREE!) all day long. It is so calming and peaceful (and did I mention FREE?) and feed the Seagulls. Things have changed some since then - though this attraction remains FREE! And I still ride the ferry from time to time and feed the seagulls when I need to find my peace, my inner child.
Q: Where do locals go to eat in Galveston?
A: Great question - there are great chain restaurants that many families visit from seafood to steak to fast food. I prefer local dining, meeting the people who work and eat there. These are my neighbors and no they don't pay me to advertise here. Queen's Barbecue, Shrimp N Stuff Seafood, Patty Cakes Bakery makes the most delicious cake balls and other treats, Star Drug in the strand area, and believe it or not, Waffle House. But one of the greatest things about renting a private residence is that you can choose to eat out, or not, and the savings can be phenomenal, leaving you extra vacation money to send postcards and tell everyone what a great time you had and you hope they will bring you when they come!
