“Absolute Perfection!”

Reviewed 2 Jul 2015

We had THE BEST TIME!!! The cabin - island - lake - far surpassed our expectations!!! The cabin was absolutely spectacular not only in amenities but beauty and comfort! We can't say enough about how perfect it was. Even the potty in the shed was great!! LOL. We saw the osprey and heard the loons. We met the resident snapping turtle, plus all of the other birds! The picnic table on the lower deck was perfect! The canoe was great for when we toured the coves. The cabin does have a dock for boat docking. Collins boat rental also went above and beyond for us! They met us at Monmouth boat launch and showed us how to operate the boat. They gave us a lake map which was a god-send. They delivered the boat and picked it up for us - on time and super accommodating! We were late on Friday getting there from Kittery and they were so nice about it. They were easy to contact if we had a question also. The 14' pontoon boat that we rented was perfect. It worked great for our touring and fishing. We even had two inflatable chairs that we tied off of the boat and floated around while anchored by one of the islands. We could go on and on - the cabin - island - lake - everything was the best! We will be back!

“Amazing Island and Cabin”

Reviewed 12 Jul 2012

We had a lovely couple of days (too short!) at this island cabin. The cabin itself is great - well-equipped for an island cabin. We were skeptical about the propane-powered fridge, but we just left it on for a night and it was cold in the morning. The island is very well-located for seeing wildlife that visits the lake. Directly above the cabin was an osprey nest. We saw (and heard) countless loons, a river otter off the island's dock, a giant turtle, frogs, and fish (though we didn't fish). The canoe is great for paddling around the lake. It was pretty buggy when we were there (early July), so come prepared with some bug spray, but the cabin was equipped with citronella candles, so we put those to good use. It was wonderful to be in the woods, on a lake, and still have a comfortable bed to sleep in!

“water and loons everywhere!”

We enjoyed our stay and found it very relaxing....we loved canoing, fishing and sitting on the deck reading or playing cards. It was very clean and private. It was fun having our tiny, private space in the big lake.
