Description of the Garrettstown vacation home rental
The Cowhouse sits on four acres of land, with sweeping views over the Atlantic to the Old Head of Kinsale. It's a 300 year old stone barn, which was completely refurbished, with all-new everything, in early 2009. The interior was created by internationally-renowned Clodagh Design.

There are two double-bed rooms, and two further bedrooms which can be configured as either doubles or split singles. The house is ideally set up for two small families: four adults and four kids - but there are two further 'nooks' with beds suitable for little kids.

The main living/dining area is vast (about 20' by 50'): the ceiling is 20' up, with a nice open fireplace, piles of firewood, and dangerously comfortable sofas. Not to mention a massive reclaimed pine table which seats 16 in comfort - and which weighs over 2000lbs.

There is a 16' solid concrete countertop, housing an extremely well-equipped kitchen: we love to cook.

And there's a mini-spa, with a deep bubble bath and six-head rain shower.

It boasts full underfloor central heating, 300 litre hot water tank with high pressure showers, a Wolf range and Sub-Zero fridge, 46" HD TV with satellite and iPod ready stereo.

Lots of fluffy white towels and bed linen, plenty of storage...all you need.

Area Information
This is a relatively remote part of the country: it is extremely quiet up here, and the property adjoins protected forest land - great for the long country walks.

15 minutes walk away are two fine sandy beaches, with a decent surfbreak.

The Cowhouse is 5 minutes drive from the local village, which has most things you'd need on a daily basis (and a genuinely first-rate butcher and pastry shop/cafe).

10 minutes further down the road is Kinsale, a picture-postcard of a harbour town, packed with restaurants and bars.

NOTE Vacation Rentals does not locate the house accurately: enter 'Garrettstown Co Cork' in GoogleMaps and you'll find it...blurily!

Stunning contemporary stylish converted barn

July 2, 2010

From the sweeping views over the sparkling sea and lush landscape to the giant sok bathtub and enormous wetrooms... this stylish converted barn perched on a hill over Garretstown ticks all the right boxes for a holiday in West Cork - perfect for either a family escape or a couples retreat. You will want for nothing if you holiday in the Cowhouse - we couldnt recommend it more..
