The weather was wonderful & we actually had a rain storm around 3 am one morning. Such a tranquil place to visit. We had a family vacation..ten people and had a great time..Our friend who owns a cabin in TN came for a visit. She also thought the cabin was very nice. The cabin was so roomy and was very nicely decorated. We enjoyed the fire pit in the back. We sat on the benches and talked for hours & enjoyed roasted marshmallows. One of my friends here at home, asked me about the cabin & she plans to write for a brochure. All in all..I loved Blue Mountain Lodge.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Blue Mountain Lodge. Our family, which included my 2 daughters and their husbands, and my granddaughter along with my niece and her husband and daughter, had a great time. The cabin was large enough to accommodate all of us and provide privacy for each family. The younger generation enjoyed the video games and pool table. I loved the location, just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge but close enough for shopping and outdoor activities. We will be back. Thanks for sharing your home!

What a wonderful Vacation Home. Bedrooms for everyone with a bath of their own, Full Kitchen and outdoor Grill which was important to me as a Chef. The accommodations are extremely comfortable with Mountain-top views and quiet nights. Stars by the billions since there is no light clutter. Sat on the porch just taking them all in. Wonderful!!! Close to everything you want and need. Far enough away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Attractions very nearby for fun. Loved it!!! Thanks a million.

Guestbook

Robert in Aug 2015:
What we most liked about this place is that it?s for the most part private with a yard. Looking at most other properties that you see around Gatlinburg some are just a few feet apart with only a parking pad and no yard. This one has a yard front and back with nothing behind you but trees, hills, and nobody else. On the inside the bed and baths are HUGE!! The ceilings were most impressive things I have never seen with all the exposed beams and supports it had to be 30ft in the living room. Much more impressive in person than any of the photos. It seemed to be in the middle of everything about the same distance to Dollywood as the Ober Gatlinburg. The roads are all paved but very twisty. I guess that is to be expected in a mountain area. You can?t walk to any attraction, but nothing is too far by car, just a few minutes. It just seemed far when we first arrived with the twisty roads till we got used to it. The quiet was great to us for a vacation. We wanted a quiet family get-away, not a hotel. This place certainly delivered. Being next door to an amusement park or downtown has its advantages, if you like noise. We get plenty of noise at home? LOL. We will certainly be returning to this awesome place. I would certainly like to see it covered in snow.

VR in Nov 2015 - Second time even better

We have stayed at the property about a year ago, and the owners have made some upgrades since our last stay, making it even better. Now there are three big comfortable benches for gathering around the backyard firepit. The kitchen now has refreshed appearance and granite countertops. Everything else is still well cared for and in great condition. We were fortunate with weather and fall colors during our stay this time - it was fairly warm and fall colors were still on display even though it was beginning of November. Overall, same great property, nice updates.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What makes Blue Mountain Lodge different?
A: Unlike many other cabins in the area, Blue Mountain Lodge is NOT built on some steep drop off - it actually has front AND back yard. There is even a firepit in the back yard - a feature you won't find in most Gatlinburg vacation homes. Situated on a fairly private lot and backing to the woods, it is accessible by all paved road. It is not located in a "pud" or a "resort" where cabins are mere 10-15 feet from each other and guests are subject to all the noise and commotion. And, you won't be looking at the roofs of multiple other cabins while enjoying the back deck!
Q: Is Blue Mountain Lodge suitable for elderly or infirm?
A: That depends. There are about 6 steps from the driveway to the front deck that leads to the cabin main entrance. There are 2 bedrooms WITH attached bathrooms on the first floor, living room, dining area, access to back deck, hot tub and grill. So once a person has made it inside, there is no need to go up and down the stairs to access any necessities. But of course, each guest should make their own informed decision about suitability - see our floor plans in pictures.
Q: We have a well behaved housbroken pet. Can we bring it?
A: Unfortunately, we cannot allow pets. We do have our own, but we do not bring them to the cabin. There are multiple reasons - some guests have allergies and sensitivities, and no matter how well the cabin is cleaned, they may be affected after the pet had stayed there. Another reason is that different people have different understanding of what "well behaved" and "housebroken" is. And often, even the best behaved pet can get stressed when placed into unfamiliar environment. The result can be expensive cleanup and repairs of the damage. We simply cannot take such risks.
Q: Why is there a minumum age requirement?
A: After a large fire in Pigeon Forge couple of years ago that consumed dozens of cabins, all vacation cabin insurers but one pulled out of the local market. We cannot risk losing our insurance coverage due to accepting renters below certain age.
Q: How do payments work?
A: If you are booking more than 30 days in advance, the $300 booking deposit will be due to hold the reservation in your name. Balance will be due 30 days prior to check in date. If you are booking 30 days or less before the check in date, the entire amount (rent, applicable cleaning fee and lodging tax, plus $300 refundable damage deposit) will be due. If the balance is not paid 30 days prior to check in date, we reserve the right to cancel booking due to nonpayment of balance and withhold the deposit. More detail in rental agreement.
We accept personal or cashier's check (more than 35 days prior to check in), PopMoney direct bank transfer, credit cards via Square or PayPal payment (PayPal account not required).
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: Cancellations:
60 days or more prior to check in date - full refund;
31 to 59 days - refund of amount paid to date, less $150 cancellation fee;
30 days or less - refund only cleaning fee and damage deposit; We reserve right to cancel reservation due to nonpayment of balance at the 30 days mark, and keep the deposit paid to date.
