“Beautiful home”

Reviewed 8 Aug 2016

We just got home (yesterday) from staying at this beautiful home. It is just as pictured with the exception of additional beautiful furniture on the front porch. We really enjoyed sitting out there. During our stay, a guy who maintains the cabin across the street came over to the cabin while my kids were on the front porch. I was standing at the window so I walked outside. He informed us that "the bear is back". We knew there were bears in the area and were hoping that we would get to see it (from a distance). We did not, however, see it. Both beds, upstairs and down are firm and super comfortable. We stayed comfortably with 4 kids and 4 adults. Just as the description states, it is close enough to town and far enough to feel secluded. When you start to head up the mountain, there is a sign that states you need 4wd or tire chains during the winter. This is completely accurate. The roads were hard to get up in the rain, I can not imagine the snow. Even though there is a cabin across the street, it still feels very private. We have season passes to Dollywood (about 4-5 miles away) so we went there most every day. It is approximately a 17 minute drive due to getting down the mountain roads. Our GPS took us straight to the cabin so it was not hard to find. Check in and out was very easy. I was emailed the code to the door and was able to go straight to the cabin and go in. There is wireless internet. The password was not posted and we never bothered to ask for it as we were not there to sit on the internet but still, an awesome feature for watching Netflix at night. All of our phones (AT&T and Verizon) had service. The ONLY reason I gave this cabin 4 stars instead of 5 was due to the water. When we first arrived, my 5 year old daughter immediately wanted in the jacuzzi. There was hair in the jacuzzi and it appeared to have not been clean even though everything else was clean. When the water started filling up, we noticed it was yellow. We ran the tub and the jets several cycles and could not get the water to run clear. We noticed that the water in the toilets was yellow as well. I am not sure if maybe it is just because it's possibly well water or old pipes but the water stinks. This was not a huge deal but we were disappointed in not being able to use the jacuzzi. Our 8 month old had showers all week and we cooked with bottled water. Overall, this was a great home and we would def stay with the company again!
