Roberts Ridge - Awsome location and view

Our family reunion for 11 people fit very comfortably in this property. We enjoyed having space to spread out, the pool table, and most of all the amazing view of the sunrise and sunset each day. The community pool was very nice too.

Grandview for a Grand Time

October 2, 2014

My husband and I wanted to spend 5 days in the Smokies and decided on the Grandview for our accomodations. We knew we chose wisely the very first time we drove up the steep winding driveway. Let me just say the home was everything the photos depicted! Beautiful sweeping views of the Smokies, lovely comfortable bedrooms. Every amenity you could ever want! Our favorite parts were the 2 wrap around decks with the rocking chairs which was a fantastic way to begin and end every day. There is something about enjoying a hot cup of coffee watching the sun come up or sipping a nice Cabernet watching the sun set-gorgeous!!! We hiked up to Rainbow Falls one day, drove to Clingmans Dome another and the highlight of the trip was riding our bikes around the Cade's Cove Loop early one morning. The property was close to everything! And the hot tub really came in handy for our tired achy muscles! The home was close enough to town when we felt like a dinner out, but we grilled steaks out on the grill most nights-we're foodies, after all! We have already recommended the property to a couple of our friends. It could easily sleep 10+, but it was cozy enough for just the two of us. If your goal is peace and quiet in the Smokies check this property out- you will not be sorry!!!

"Grand View" surpassed our expectations. The management was easy to contact and always helpful. The location was ideal. Secluded. We came a bit too early for the wild blueberries in the back yard to be ripe. We were also a little early for the wild strawberries that blanketed the little nature trail. But, we were just in time to see the Mountain Laurels that surrounded the property begin to bloom ...and a wild 'Flame Azalea' viewed from the deck! We stayed a full week and saw the sky change every day...you could lay back on the deck and pick animal shapes out of the clouds like children. One morning, the distant ridge was covered with billowing clouds so dense as to remind one family member of how the "Smokey" Mts. got their name. We also made home-made kites, tied them to fishing poles and flew them off the deck. You're mostly above the trees! And...most amazing, the house was full of people for the whole week, and we didn't run out of HOT water once! We had never been to Gaitlinburg before and did not know about the lively carnival nature of the town. It was very entertaining...but we were always happy to have a serene refuge at Grand View to retreat to in the evening. Half my family pictures from the trip are of people napping.
