$129/nt Winter special - Stay in a Real Log Home!!
From $139 / night
Pets allowed: No
Come stay at an authentic log home on Ski Mountain in the exclusive Chalet Village in Gatlinburg. This is a built-from-scratch log home, not a standard home "converted" to a log home. Not much drywall in this home. Interior construction features exposed log timbers and cedar walls.
The home features a magnificent and unique floor plan. The living area is anchored by a huge stone fireplace. The space overhead reveals a cathedral ceiling with exposed log timbers. The furniture is new and exhibits a mountain theme. The sofa converts to a bed providing total sleep accommodations for 8. A 46" LCD widescreen TV is provided in the living area. A staircase winds behind the fireplace leading to a loft overlooking the living area. The loft contains a regulation billiards table.
The master bedroom is also located on the 2nd floor and features a sitting area and a large jetted Jacuzzi oversized tub. All the bedroom furniture is also new. Ample windows afford a view of the Ski Mountain valley and distant peaks.
Two spacious guest bedrooms are located on the first floor with queen size beds. All bedrooms contain cable TV's. The kitchen contains all major appliances and is equipped with all cooking and eating utensils.
Outside is a spectacular covered porch with a view across Ski Mountain. The porch has rocking chairs for great lounging and socializing. A grill is available. A 4 person hot tub is located on the porch. Next to the home is a sun deck with full patio furniture and seating areas.
This is an delightful home with an incredible layout. Come relax and have a great vacation or weekend getaway !
However, although it maintains its quaint mountain charm this town of 3,000 residents often swells to 20,000 people who come to enjoy attractions and leisure amenities that rival large tourist destinations. It is part of the Gatlinburg-Pigeon Forge- Sevierville tourist destination, the 7th most popular tourist area in the USA.
Gatlinburg is home to Hard Rock Cafe, TGIF, Corky's BBQ along with some great local restaurants. The largest shark tunnel Aquarium, Ripley's Aquarium is a must see. Gatlinburg is also home to a large craft zone featuring mountain artists, sculpters amd other artisans who have lived in these mountains for generations.
There are zip lines, nearby whitewater rafting, great hiking, golf, outlet mall shopping, and Gatlinburg even has even its own ski resort; Ober Gatlinburg, complete with a tram connecting downtown to the ski resort.
But my favorite attraction is the hundreds of black bears who live in these mountains and at times venture down to stroll along the city streets.
There is no place like Gatlinburg !

A Little Piece of Heaven
A Little Piece of Heaven

We stayed at Steve's beautiful home for 4 nights October 24 2012. Everything you could possibly need is already in the home. Our children ranged in age from 12 to 25, and each and every one of them loved this time together. We made some beautiful family memories and we will never forget the time together. We spent a couple of days doing the standard "tourist" things but honestly the best part was relaxing with my family , playing board games, enjoying a fire in the fireplace, sitting in the hot tub, watching home movies and just spending time together. We truly felt like we were way out in the country but were really 15 minutes from anything we needed. Steve was very helpful and sent us a welcome packet that was really nice. It included lots of information about the local area that was a help to us. The home is beautiful and feels very secluded, everything you need is there. You could make a trip to the grocery on your way in and never have to leave if you wanted to. It is that complete. We saw a large bear right at the end of the front yard and had to stop our car to allow a mother bear and four cubs to walk across the road right in front of us! We also had to stop once for a flock of Wild Turkeys. We spent some time in the magnificent Smokies , I don't think you could ever get tired of their beauty and peacefulness. This was the second vacation that our family has had in 25 years and I truly could not have asked for a better experience. Steve was very very helpful and answered all of my questions fully. There was a set of instructions for all of the different areas in the house (Fireplace, Hot Tub, Thermostat etc.) These were very helpful also. The house is a true log home and all of the accessories are very homey and comfortable. I would love to be snowed in to the house in the dead of winter! If we are ever able to take another vacation we have all agreed that we do not even want to try another place , We all want to return to this little piece of heaven. You can trust that Steve will do everything he can to assure you having a wonderful vacation. Because my children are growing up and moving away it was so important to me to find somewhere that we could all reax and connect but at the same time have enough varied activities to keep everyone happy. Mountain Memories is that place and I don't honestly think we will ever go any place else regardless of how much time an/or money we have. We are forever grateful to Steve. Thank you Steve!

I stayed at this cabin for 5 nights with my 2 boys ages 13 and 10. The cabin was a great deal. First you definitely want to arrive at the cabin while it is still daylight and you want to go up Ski Mountain Rd. and turn onto the Rd. the cabin is on so it will be to your right, we came in another way and passed up the cabin the 1 st time plus it would be very difficult to turn into the driveway from the left. The driveway is very steep. We enjoyed our stay there, the pool table and hot tub were great. We had a couple of minor issues but the owner Steve was very nice and dealt with them quickly. We would stay there again. He does need to get his new ice maker hooked up, we just bought a bag of ice our 2nd night. Just to share I took my boys to see the Lumberjack feud dinner show, they really liked it, my 13 yr. old didn't think he would. They also really enjoyed Ripley's aquarium and the Titanic museum. Don't go to the Wood Grill Buffet, alot of food, costly but food is awful. All in all we had great time!

It was a beautiful cabin in a gorgeous location! Loved the view from the jacuzzi on the porch; we really appreciated the fact that its emptied and cleaned every time. It was a great deal in comparison to a hotel. We couldn't find any sheets for the sofa bed, though; that was frustrating since it said it slept 8. Also, we ran out of toilet paper the second day, right after we came back from the store, so we had to turn around and make a second trip. We really appreciated the great communication from the owner prior to our trip. He seemed very nice.

My family had the opportunity to visit this property and it is absolutely wonderful. Everything thing that Steve promises he delivers. The home is warm and welcoming. Make sure to take everything you need because there really is no reason to leave. We enjoyed the town and everyone was exceptionally nice. I rate the entire experience a 10+ and I have already started to make plans for my next visit there. Our vacation was adults only but a quiet family vacation with children would be wonderful and safe. Everything is clean and quiet. I could go on for hours but I must busy myself planning my next stay here.
