Greatly enjoyed our weeks stay, home is very clean, has a great layout. We were 3 adults and had 3 friends come visit for a few days and never felt crowded. Everything we needed for a wonderful vacation was right here! The best part for us were the ATV trails. There are so many in the Lakes of the North, I doubt we even rode half of them. We had use of the attached garage, so just hop on your 4 wheelers, pick a direction and go. No hassles, no loading and unloading. Lots of fun for walking and bicycle riding too. The area is very wooded, neighbors are there, but not visible. Over all a very tranquil setting. The trees help to keep the house shaded as well as there is no A/C. There are fans to use, so we were comfortable. Lakes of the North has a lot of amenities, we didn't use many of them because we were trail riding so much, but we did use the lakes several times. Lake Harold has a very nice beach, nice family setting. Pencil Lake is good fishing, and more secluded - can take your dog to Pencil Lake. We made the trip to Gaylord several times - apprx 20 mins lots of shopping and resturants. Mancelona once for pizza (which was awesome) that was apprx 20 mins as well. grocery there as well apprx 45 mins to wolverine or indian river for awesome kayaking 1 hour to mackinaw city I would definitely recommend this house to anyone, we had a very enjoyable stay and would love to come back

Owner's reply: Laura, Thank you for the kind words. We have always thought that that part of Michigan has been under rated as a great vacation area. For solitude you can sit on the deck with a book and watch the hummingbirds or pileated woodpeckers. Or sit in a boat on one of the non-motor lakes and watch the bluegills play with your bait. Then there's also wine tours at Traverse Bay, Casinos at Petoskey, family restaurants in Gaylord or Traverse City. And 2 dozen golf courses nearby. 4 season fun for all.

“Wonderful Vacation House!”
