“Just Magical...”

Reviewed 16 Oct 2015

This was truly a place of beauty and serenity. My husband, 2 children and my mother all shared a peaceful experience that left us all recharged. The cottage itself is very comfortable with everything you can imagine needing already in it. The scenery is breathtaking, and literally right outside your door. We can't wait to come again! Many thanks for the owners for sharing their lovely home!!

“Cottage at Indian Point”

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It had beautiful views of sunrise over the ocean, its own sandy beach, and it provided us with many happy rambles over rocks at low tide, peering into tide pools and enjoying the beach roses. People not familiar with Maine ocean swimming should know that the water is very cold. We're from Maine, so we knew what to expect, and enjoyed a couple of wonderfully bracing quick dips. We also used the kayaks to paddle up the bay into the marsh, where we saw plenty of birds. The cottage was cozy and comfortable, but the best part is the location - stunningly beautiful and quiet.. We were fortunate to be there at the time of the Perseid meteor shower. As we lay outside on the grass at midnight, the dark sky allowed the Milky Way to be very noticeable, and some brilliant meteors put on quite a display.

“Perfect spot”

Cute little cabin, kind of rustic but everything you need. Plenty of room. Breathtaking views, great (mostly) private beach, wild roses everywhere! Kids and dogs had a great time! Watched birds and dolphins, climbed rocks, swam. Everything you could want in a vacation.

“Maine's Best Location!”

The most beautiful spot on Georgetown. Comfortable beds and furniture. All linens and basics provided. Gracious homeowner, friendly neighbors. We and our dog had a wonderful time walking the beaches and trails.

“Heaven by the Sea”

Reviewed 4 Sep 2014

We spent a wonderful, fun filled week with family soaking up the sun and combing the beach and rocks for sea stars, urchins, hermit crabs and any other living creature. All treasures found were respectfully returned to the sea. We spent hours walking the beaches and rocks and occasionally we're fortunate to see deer playing near our cottage. So sereal! The cottage itself was immaculate and furnished with everything that could give the comforts of home for, microwave, to Wi-fi, lovely linens, to minor but necessary items such as garbage bags, dish soap, and sunscreen waiting for us on the outside chairs. I can not say enough about how much we enjoy this piece of heaven by the sea!

“Fabulous”

A very comfortable cottage wonderfully situated on the beach with great views of the bay and ocean. A very quiet and serene area allowing for hiking, kayaking and relaxing, as well as some great seafood places. All of this was enhanced by our very gracious and friendly landlady/lord. Of course, perfect weather didn't hurt either.

“Excellent vacation!”

Reviewed 1 Aug 2012

The cottage was right on the beach and the weather was outstanding for the entire trip. The views of the ocean from the cottage were breathtakingly amazing. The beach itself was super private with only the owners of the cottage and relatives of theirs having direct access. At high tide the beach was truly private with no real access available to others (not that others even came by during low tide, but in theory it was a possibility). Cliff and Norah Webster were very friendly and welcoming, and their cottage was well stocked with any utensils, towels or other items one would need at a cottage. My best advice would be to follow their advice on what to do and see. There are several unique locations, such as tidal flats and a state park that they directed us to that were truly awesome locations to visit. They also pointed out local restaurants that we enjoyed very much. Additionally, this rental was very family friendly and pet friendly. We brought not only ourselves, but my 1.5 year old son and our two dogs and Cliff and Norah were great with them. We were also pleasantly surprised to find a nice toddler high chair in the cottage (those without children could have easily kept it off to the side, but parents will really appreciate the added bonus of having one). All in all it was a fantastic trip that we plan on repeating again and again provided the stellar reviews they constantly receive don't tie up all the open vacation slots :)

“Best best there is...”

If you like the roaring surf just outside your window, or the sun blazing in on you in the morning while eating your oatmeal before a huge picture window, or a crackling fireplace on a chilly night, then you'll love Sewall's cottage. I've never had a better vacation experience. The solitude is remarkable, the cleanliness of the place is extraordinary, and the convenience of it is, well, it's not convenient to anything around and that is one of the beauties of the place. Indian point is remote even though there are neighbors within eyesight. Indian Point is a "big picture" place while at the same time intimate and cozy. And, Sewall's Cottage is everything that one could imagine in a cottage by the sea. Regretably, by writing a glowing review it will attract many people to it, and that does not bode well for someone who plans to return one day because it may be all booked up. But, truth be told, this is a remarkable experience for anyone who loves the ocean.

“Peaceful and Beautiful getaway”

Reviewed 9 May 2012

The cottage, setting, views, everything was perfect. The location is drop dead gorgeous in any season, and even though it rained most of the time it was lovely. Very comfortable bed and the porch overlooking the sea was a perfect place to sit and have coffee while watching sea birds and the surf.
