Description of the Georgetown vacation home rental
Unique Historic Home for Rent: Miss Mable's Bluegrass Home

Hello and Welcome! Those that enjoy antiques, historic houses, and traveling will get a treat spending time in Miss Mable's Bluegrass Home. The 1906 home is of the Classic Revival style and is located in Georgetown Kentucky with its Southern charm. The house is about a block from Main Street with Victorian mansions, several small restaurants, and shops. The house was redone in 2004-2005 with an emphasis on maintaining the characteristics of an era long ago, such as the beautiful original hardwood floors, trim, and doors, tall ceilings and gorgeous reproduction wallpaper. The decorations and furnishings consist of family heirlooms and hand made furniture made on the family farm in Eastern Kentucky in the late 30's. The Victorian bathroom is "WOW" and a great place to soak and relax. Miss Mable will be glad to assist in arranging for a caterer. Daily maid service is also an added service.

Area Information
There are many fun things to do near Miss Mable's house in Central Kentucky.
Antique shopping is a great activity with many clever stores found in nearby towns: Midway; Georgetown;Frankfort; Shelbyville; Lexington; Louisville;
and Cincinnati.
Tours of the regional distilleries that Kentucky is noted for are very interesting. As expected, there are many folks working hard to make the great Kentucky bourbon. There is: Makers Mark in Loretto; Wild Turkey in Lawrenceburg; Woodford Reserve in Versailles;
Buffalo Trace in Frankfort; Haven Hill in Bardstown;
Kentucky Bourbon in Bardstown; Jim Beam in Frankfort; and
Four Roses Bourbon in Bardstown. It is suggested that you call in adance to clarify days and times of tours. Distilleries are not always able to show all areas. Also follow the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
The horse industry is a major feature of Kentucky's Bluegrass region. The Kentucky Horse Park is about six miles away from Miss Mable's house and has a full range of educational and entainment displays. Everyone is making plans for the 2010 International Horse games at the Horse Park. The Kentucky Derby in Louisville is the first Saturday in May and is well known. Keeneland Race Track in Lexington has races 3 weeks each Spring and Fall and Horse Sales. Drive through rural Central Kentucky and see many breeds of horses in pastures. Also arrangements can sometimes be made to see a private horse farm. Arrangements can be made to go for a horse back ride or take lessons.
The process of auto manufacturing can be seen in Toyota's local plant.
There are several Golf Courses, Canewood and Cherry Blossom, within the Georgetown community and both are about fours miles away in different directions.
We have many beutiful churches and two very historic ones. There is the Presbyterian Church on Main Street with its unique antique organ from the 1800's. It is not unusual for someone to be available to give a short presentation. Then, there is the Episcopal Church on Broadway that is made of white stone from the local region.

Other interesting sites are available within an hours drive of Georgetown. You may choose to go to Louisville and go on the gambling boats. You can choose to go to Cincinnati and visit local museums, zoos, or other attractions. Major airports are located in Lexington, Louisville, and Cincinnati. Also, you can reach interstates 75 and 64 from Georgetown.
